Board of County Commissioners in regular session, those present being Mr. Cummins.,
Mr. Pettit and Mr. Lowstuter.
Minute No. 277 read and approved.
Motion duly made and seconded that the Solicitor be authorized to prepare an agreement
between Washington County and Anthony Cindrich, of Cross Creek Township, for the sale of reddog
from property of Washington County, formerly owned by Duquesne Mining Company, situate in
Independence Township, for the sum of 100 per ton; this agreement to be subject to cancellation by
either party upon one monthis notice, or by the County immediately upon sale of the Duquesne Mine
property
Motion carried.
There being no further business to come before the Board at this time, the meeting was

Deputy Controller Aentel called into the meeting for the purpose of opening bids received
in accordance with advertisement of the County Controller for the furnishing and delivery of ballots
and election supplies for the conduct of the Municipal Election to be held November 4, 1947.

In accordance therewith, the following bid on ballots, being the only one received,
was opened and read;
MONONGAHELA PUBLISHING COMPANY, Monongahela, Pa.
and
WARD PRINTING COMPANY, Washington, Pa.
j Approximately 922000 regular white official ballots:
Price per thousand for ballots furnished ............... .. .......... .............. ......$ 34*00
Approximately 19,000 pink official specimen ballots for election districts;
Price per thousand for specimen ballots furnished ........................ ..............s 18.00
Nine single sets of specimen ballots as set forth in attached specifications;
Price per nine sets.... **so** .... 95.00
For printing, binding and delivering any re -run of a ballot of any election district
because of error on the part of any county employee:
( Minimum charge per district for re -run of 100 ballots or less ..........................$ 7.50
Charge per 100 re -run ballots for same district in addition to minimum charge ..... ..... $ 1.25
A certified check in the amount of $500.00 is enclosed herewith.
Motion by Mr. Lowstuter, seconded by Mr. Pettit, that the above bid be approved and.
accepted.
Motion carried.
Also in accordance with advertisement of the County Controller, the following bid for
election supplies for the conduct of the Municipal Election to be held November It, 19479 being
the only one received, was opened and read:
WILLIAM G. JOHNSTON COMPANY, Pittsburgh, Pa.
In accordance with the advertisement of the County Controller, inviting proposals
j for the furnishing and delivering to the office of the County Commissioners supplies to include
tally sheets, return sheets, envelopes, numbered lists of voters, voter's certificates, Election
Officers Manuals, etc. required for use of the election officers at the Municipal Election to
be held November 4, 19�7, having examined the attached specifications and understanding the
same, I (or 'pie) propose to furnish these supplies_ in accordance therewith, for the sum of

$ 1222.50
A certified check in the amount of $100.00 is enclosed herewith.
Motion by Mr. Lowstuter, seconded by Mr. Pettit, that the above bid be approved and
accepted.
Motion carried.
I Motion duly made and seconded that the proposal of T. M. Bedillion in the sum of
299.50 for the delivery of ballot boxes to the various Judges of Election for the Municipal
Election to be held November 4, 1947, be accepted.
Motion carried.
There being no further business to cord before the Board at this time, the meeting
