PETTIT, J❑HN N.O'NEIL, CoMM15510NERS 1 1 NO. 238 Office of the County Commissioners Washington, Pa., April 91 1947 Board of County Commissioners in regular session, specially called, in connection with the continuation of Public Sale of Automobiles held this day by Washington County in the I Public 'Meeting Room of the Court House at 11r00 a.m., those present being Mr. Cummins, Mr. Pettit and Mr. Lowstuter. Upon consideration of the result of the aforementioned continuation of Public Sale, the following bids were approved and accepted; ARTICLE BID 1 - 1942 Four Door Dodge Sedan (Serial No. 30630314) 710.00 1 - 1942 Two Door Hudson Sedan (Serial No. 2021191) 955.00 Motion duly made and seconded that the Chief Clerk be authorized to deliver certi- ficates of title for the above cars to Robert Pirchesky, of Monongahela, Pa., upon payment of the balance of the bid price of $1665.00 for both cars. Motion carried. There being no further business to come before the Board at this time, the meeting was adjourned. April 11, j�1947 (]� ATTESTi (r, NO. 239 i Office of the County Commissioners Washington, Pa., April 11, 1947 Board of County Commissioners in regular session, those present being Mr. Cummins, Mr. Pettit and Mr. Lowstuter, Minutes Nos. 237 and 238 read and approved. Motion duly made and seconded that voucher be prepared for payment of the sum of 2,735.61 to the McDonald School District, covering 1931, 1932, 1933s 1934s 1935, 1936 and 1937 School Tax assessed against property of Ben Frankle, in the Borough of McDonald, which property was sold to Washington County at Treasurer's Tax Sale on March 24, 1940, and resold by them on August 12, 1946, under an Order of Court at No. 144 August Term, 1946; the above taxes being liened in the Prothonotary's Office and not included in the calculations for the upset price for the property; and that the Solicitor be instructed to request a proportionate refund to Washington County by each of the mortgage holders who received distribution of the surplus. Motion carried. 212 MINUTE B❑QK BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS WASHINGTON COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA ROSS R. CUMMINS, FRANCIS E. PETTIT, JOHN N. ❑'NEIL, COMMISSIONERS Motion duly made and seconded that the following Resolution be adopted: RESOLUTION BE IT RESOLVED, by the County Commissioners of Washington County, that the plans submitted by the Pennsylvania Department of Highways for the changing of State Highway Route No. 115, Section S-1, Smith Township, between Stations 9W16.5 and 1068�15, have been examined and the County Commissioners agree that Washington County will not assume any property damage resulting from the construction of the above highway as contemplated by these plans, or any damages arising out of any changes or alterations of drainage resulting from the construction or maintenance of the highway, or any damage resulting to any property or holdings of any Public Utility Company; nor will the County assume any damage resulting to any coal or other minerals in and underlying the property affected by this improvement. Motion carried. Motion duly made and seconded that Audley J. Wray be appointed Tax Collector in Union Township, to fill the vacancy caused by the resignation of Benjamin F. Gilmore, petition for such appointment having been presented to the Board by the Supervisors and School Directors of said township. Motion carried. There being no further business to come before the Board at this time, the meeting was adjourned. Motion duly made and seconded that, upon the conviction of the person or persons who murdered Lois Jean Hope, of Canonsburg, Pennsylvania, the County Commissioners will pay a reward of One Thousand (1,000.00) Dollars out of the County Treasury to that person who is directly responsible for the detection or apprehension of the murderer or murderers within the period of one (1) year from the first official announcement of the payment of such reward, such action being requested by the District Attorney of Washington County and granted under the authority of the Act of 1929 P. L. 1278, Art. v, Sec. 491, 16 Purd. Stat. 491. Motion carried. There being no further business to come before the Board at this time, the meeting was adjourned.
