Minute No. 248 read and approved. Motion duly made and seconded that the Board for the Assessment and Revision of Taxes be authorized to prepare refund voucher in favor of W. Harries Fisher in -the amount of t1.37, representing Personal Property Tax paid on 50 shares of Toledo -Edison in the years 1945 and 1946, said stock being sold in 1944. Motion carried. The following Resolution of the Board of County Commissioners of the County of E Washington, State of Pennsylvania, relative to the issue by the said County of a note for Fifty Thousand (50,000.00) Dollars as a temporary loan, was presented, duly seconded and adopted by said Board, to -wits WHEREAS, it has become necessary for said Board to borrow the sum of Fifty Thousand (50,y000.00) Dollars for the purpose of meeting current expenses for the year 1947, and to be payable out of taxes and other current revenues which have been assessed and are to be levied and collected by the County during the year l947; now, therefore, I BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of the said County of Washington, that for the purpose of providing funds for the payment of current expenses of the County, the proper officials of the said County are hereby authorized and directed to negotiate a temporary loan -on such terms as may be agreed upon by them, able out�of taxes which are to be levied and collected during the year 1947, and so much of -said taxes as may be necessary to repay said loan, with interest, is hereby set aside and designated for that purpose, and issue a note therefor, payable August 5, 1947-, with interest I from date of said note at the rate of'one (1) per cent. per annum, free of all taxes levied by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. which said takes the County of Washington assumes and agrees to pay, said note to be negotiated E as followss Y11 sHiNGTQN L1 ioN Tom COMPANY .......... 50,000- "' i �'18 MINUTE BOOK BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS WASHIN13TON COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA ROSS R. OINEIL, COMMISSIONERS Motion duly made and seconded that approval be given to the execution of a Release of Damages by The Citizens Water Company of Washington,, Pa.., in favor of Washington County., dated May 12, 1947, for and in consideration of the sun of one ($1.00) Dollar., in connection with the widening and grading of the channel of Chartiers Creek and the realignment and change of grade of the approach road -ways pursuant to the rebuilding of Chartiers Creek Bridge No. 64., known as the Gabby Bridge, abutting on Township Road No. 505., in North Franklin Township. Motion carried. Motion duly made and seconded that., in answer to petition filed at No. 231 August Tem., 1946, after survey and careful consideration., the County Board of Elections be directed to file a report to the Court., recommending division of Somerset Township so as to create two precincts., to be known as the "First Precinct" and the "Second Precinct". Motion carried. Motion duly made and seconded that an appropriation in the -sum of $600,00 be granted to Washington County Historical Society,, in compliance with request dated May 9., 1947. Motion carried. Motion by Mr. Lowstuter., seconded by Mr. Cummins,, that Calvert Wilson be employed as a Clerk in the office of the Board for the Assessment and Revision of Taxes., effective May 20.. 1947, and covering the period from that date to the first Monday in January., 1948. Motion carried., with Mr. Pettit voting ffNoff.
