Office of the County Commissioners y Washington, Pa., May 6.. 1946 C Board of County Commissioners in regular session, -those present being Mr. -Cummins, Mr. Pettit and Mr. Lowstuter. Minute No. 162 read and approved. Motion duly made and seconded that the County Controller be authorized to advertise for the retubing of two 72x18t HftT boilers in the heating plant at the Court House, Washington, ; Pa. Motion carried. Motion duly made and seconded that approval be given to the request, by letter, for I an extension of Agreement dated Jan. 1, 1910, between the Counties -of Washington and Westmoreland and The Central District Printing Telegraph Company, predecessor of The Bell Telephone Company of Pennsylvania., granting to said Bell Telephone Company the right to place and maintain an additional 200-pair cable across the Donora-Webster Bridge, at a yearly rental of 500 per pair I of wires to Washington County, increasing the yearly rental paid to Washington County by $100.00, in accordance with Paragraph 3 of said Agreement. Motion carried. Motion duly made and seconded that Joseph E. Short be employed on a time and material i basis to make necessary repairs to the windows in --the Court House and Jail. The following Resolution of the Board of County Commissioners of the County of ;Washington, State of Pennsylvania, relative to the issue by the said County of a note for One Hundred Thousand ($100,000.00) Dollars as a temporary loan, was presented, duly seconded jand adopted by said Board, to -wit, 1 i iir MINUTE BOOK BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS WASHINGTON COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA ROSS R. O'NEIL, COMMISSIONERS MONGN GAH ELA PLJQLIBNlNQ COS__ WHZ MS it has become necessary for said Board to borrow the sum of One Hundred Thousand s ($100.,000.00) Dollars for the purpose of Meting current expenses for the year 1946s and to be ! payable out of taxes and other current revenues which have been assessed -and are to be levied and collected by the County during the year 1946; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVE© by the Board of County Commissioners of the said County of Washington., that for the purpose of providing funds for the payment of current expenses of_the County, the proper officials of the said County are hereby authorized and directed to negotiate a temporary loan on such terms as may be agreed upon by them., payable out of taxes which are to be levied j and collected during the year 1946, and so much of said taxes as may be necessary to repay said loan, with interest, is hereby set aside and designated for that purpose, and issue a note thereforfi payable August 5s 19460 with interest from date of said note at the rate of one -(I) per cent. per annums free of all taxes levied by the Comratonwealth of Pennsylvania, which said taxes the County ' of Washington assumes and agrees to pay, said note to be negotiated as follows: GENMULFUND SINKING FUND COMMISSION .................................. 100,000.00 ( Notion duly made and seconded that refund be made in favor of J. M. Colaizzo, Canonsburg,; Pa., in the amount of $12.83s covering payment of County Tax for the year 1945 on "2-sty. frame house and lot", assessed at 2.,000.00, in the First Ward of Canonsburg Borough, the said property being assessed for the year 1945 in error to J. M. Colaizso, inasmuch- as it was also assessed for that year in the name of J. J. and Mollie Slone, former owners, who paid the taxes for county } purposes on same for 1945. Notion carried. 1 Motion duly made and seconded that the County Treasurer be- authorized to cancel Tax i Sale of January, 1940, in the name of George Vance, 7th Ward, Washimgtons_covering delinquent jcounty tax for the year 1928 on "new house and lot - 49 Shady Avenue"s such assessment being in duplication with that of the rightful owner, Wojcieich Starzewski, who at that time was assessed with Lot #.6 Tylerviews the said duplication appearing on the assessment_ record through the year I 1931, when the assessment records carry notation to the effect that Wcjcielch.Starzewski was the correct name - the property in question now being owned by John and Mary Borkowski. Motion carried. Motion duly made and seconded that the County Treasurer be -authorized to cancel Tax ' Sale of March 24s 1942s in the name of Mary J. Bright, in the Fifth Ward of Washingtons on property! described as "vacant lot No. 11 Reasons Choices for the non-payment of 1936 County taxess inasmuch as the property was erroneously assessed in the Fifth Ward., making it a duplication with the same property correctly assessed in the Seventh Ward. Reasonts Choice Plan is in the Seventh � Ward. Motion carried. i Notion duly made and seconded that the County Treasurer be authorized to cancel the following tax sales in East Pike Run Townships I June 14,, 1926s to John E. Reagan., for the non-payment of 1924 and 1925 County, School and Road taxes, of property described as "one lot West Side Land Co. Flan Blainesburgs Pa. J840"s assessed in the name of James H. Molers inasmuch as Lot No. 840 was later described and_sold as -Lot No.841.., making this assessment a duplication with assessment of John Svabiks the rightful owner of Lot No. 841. I Jae .1�2s.�150, to Washington County, for the non-payment of 1926 and 1927 County, School and Road taxes, of property described as "one lot 8W., assessed in the name of Mrs. J. H. Moler or Molens inasmuch as this is a duplication of assessment in.the_name of John Svabeks erroneously listed as Lot No. 641., whereas he is the rightful owner of Lot No. 841 and the. taxes on Lot No. 641 were also assessed to and paid by the owner, Frank Whitehead Est. 1 _MINUTE BOOK 141 BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS WASHINGTON COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA R❑SS R. H. Moler, inasmuch as this is a duplication of assessment in the,name of John Svabsk, erroneously listed as Lot No. 641., whereas he is the rightful owner of Lot No. 841 and the taxes on ! Lot No. 641 were also assessed to and paid by the owner, Frank Vhitehead Est. Motion carried. There being no -further -business to come before the Board at this time, the meeting was adjourned. Pleasant Township be designated as "Woman's Club Rooms located in. Allison Bros. Store Building, Hickory*, petition for said change having been duly presented to the Board prior to ten days before election and notices of contemplated change posted as required by law. The rental for above polling place is hereby fixed at $5.00 for each Primary and each Election. Motion carried, Motion duly made and seconded that the polling place in the Second Precinct of I Bentleyville be designated as "Rear of Storeroom of Michael J. Cismek", notice that the former polling place would not be available having been given to the Board prior.to ten days before election and notices of contemplated change posted as required by law. Thee rental for above polling place is hereby fixed at $15.00 for each Primary and each Election. ? Motion carried.
