There being no further business to come before the Board.at this time, the meeting was adjourned. tw"* lilt Z if UFJIWi, i INI I October 11.. 1946 ATTEST: AA 9A67� I I NO. 194 i Office -of the County Commissioners l Washington, -Pa., October 7, 1946 i Board of County Commissioners in regular session, those ptresent being Mr. Cummins, Mr. Pettit and Mr. Lowstuter. i Motion duly made and seconded that the Board for the Assessment and Revision of Taxes I be authorized to prepare voucher for refund of the sum of $6.42 in favor of Olive Grimes, Coal Center, Pa., representing 1946 County Tax paid on two houses whose combined valuation was � $1,000.00, assessed in error in the name of theTictor LaRosa Estate in -East Pike Run Township i for the year 1946, but actually owned by Olive Grimes, by whom_the said tax was paid at discount l and which houses were removed prior to January 1, 1946 but no notation of such removal having jbeen made by the local Assessor for the said year, Motion carried. Motion duly made and seconded that the following Resolutions be adopted: RESMUTION I BE IT RESOLVED by the County Commissioners of,lashington County that the plans submitted by the Department of Highways for the changing of State Highway Route 108, Section 11, in North and South Strabane Townships, between .Stations 120/00 and 33g25, have been examined and the County Commissioners agree that Washington County will not assume liability for any property damages resulting from the construction of the above highway as contemplated by these plans, or any damages arising out of arq changes or 1 alteration of drainage resulting from the construction or maintenance of f this highway.. or any damages resulting to any property -or holdings of any fi Public Utility Company; nor will the County of Washington assume any damages resulting to any coal or other minerals in and underlying any property affected by this improvement. O'NEIL, COMMISSIONERS Motion by Mr. Lowstuters seconded by Mr. Pettit, that Hilda Grossman be employed as a Clerk in the office of the Board for the Assessment and Revision of Taxes for the year 1946s effective October is 1946, and covering the period from that date to the first Monday in January, 1947. Motion carried. There being no further business to come before the Board at this time, the meeting l was adjourned. Lowstuter, Minutes Nos. 193 and 194 read and approved. , Motion duly made and seconded that the Board for the Assessment_and Revision of Taxes be authorized to refund 1944 County Tax paid in duplicate on august is 1944 and again on December 2, 1944 by Adrienne ®olle on property situate in the Borough of Houston and described as "2 sty, br. i house and Lot 57s Blk. 16s Greer P1. Haft St. adj. L. Guzym. The amounttD be refunded is $1.3.86, prorated as follows-. General Fund $10.893, Institution District $2,97, � Motion carried. Motion duly made and seconded that the Board for the Assessment and Revision of Taxes be authorized to restore to the assessment record for tax purposes for the year 1947 and subsequent j years, 29 Acres Surface, adj. J. W. Patterson, 'Vest Pike Run Toviinship, to be -assessed in the name of James W. Walkers Daisytoatns Pa.s the said 29 Acres Surface to carry a valuation of $1100.00 for the r year 1947, the same having been redeemed by the said James W. Walker after being sold to Washington County at Treasurer's Tax Sales of January 24s 1940 and April 27, 1940 in the name of James W. i Walker as 29 Acres Surface and 12 acres surface, i Motion carried. Motion by Mr. Lowstuter, seconded by Mr. Cummins, that Adeline Wright be employed as I I Assistant Registrar and Inspector of Registrations in the Registration Office for the year 1946, effective October 16s 1946 and covering the period from that date to the,first Monday in JaVmrys 1947.
