On August 6, 1945, with interest -from date, at rate of one per cent. (1%) per annum,
the COUNTY OF WASHINGTON promises to pay to the order of the GENERAL FUND SINKING nXD
COW SSION, at the Court House, Washington, Pa., ONE HUNDRED TMUSAND ($100,000.00)
DOLLARS, without defalcation*for value received. The presentment for payment, protest,
notice of protest and non-payment of this Note is waived. This Note is issued free of all
taxes levied by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, which said taxes the County of Washington
assumes and agrees to pay*
This Note is issued by virtue and in pursuance of a Resolution of the County Commissionero
of said County, adopted at a meeting thereof, duly called and held, certified copy of which I
is hereto attached*
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the County Commissioners of the County of Washington, having
duly caused this note to be issued and executed by them in the none of said County and the
Corporate Seal of said County to be hereto affixed, attested by the Clerk of the County

Board of County Commissioners in regular session, those present being Mrs Cummins,
Mr. Pettit and Mr. OtNeil.
Minute No. 69 read and approved.
Motion duly made and seconded that approval be given to the transfer of contract between
Washington County and Hultman Brothers, for the restoration of records in the office of the
Recorder of Deeds, to C. Edwin Hultman Company, in accordance with letter of C. Edwin Hultman
Company dated January 2, 1945, on file in the office of the Chief Clerk. Motion carried.
Motion by 2&9 Cummins, seconded by Air. Pettit, that George Young, of Washington, Pa.,
be re -appointed as a member of the Washington County Housing Authority for a five-year period,
• effective January 7, 1945.
Motion carried, with the Chief Clerk instructed to certify this action of the Board to
the Federal Public Housing Authority, New York City, to the State Board of Housing, Harrisburg,
Pa., and to the Washington County Housing Authority, Washington, Pa., as well as to notify Mrs
Young, by letter, of his re -appointment to the said Washington County Housing Authority.
Motion duly made and seconded that an appropriation in the amount of $200*00 be made to
Company H, 10th Infantry, Pennsylvania State Guard to assist in defraying expenses of the Corps.
Motion carried.

Motion duly made and seconded that the County Treasurer be authorized to abate penalty
and interest from all taxes against property of Walter Illig, of TI-edericktown, Pa., concurring
in actions of East Bethlehem School District and East Bethlehem Township Commissioners, as per
letter of John J. Moschetta, Solicitor, dated December 20, 1944. Motion carried,.
Motion duly made and seconded that the County Treasurer be authorized to abate penalty
and interest on delinquent taxes which were included in the abatement act and subsequently
defaulted, assessed against property of the Loyal Order of Moose No. 1268, Bentleyville, Pa.,
concurring in action of Bentleyville Borough Council under date of December 6, 1944, and
Bentleyville School, District under date of December 4, 1944. Motion carried.
Motion duly made and seconded that the County Controller be authorized to advertise
for sealed proposals for a policy of insurance within the limits of $20,000,00 to $100,000,00
i in a reliable and approved stock company, protecting the County of Washington against liability
imposed by law upon them for damage on account of personal injuries, including death accidentally
I
suffered by any person or persons (excepting employees) caused by or resulting from the existence
of, repairing, and/or maintenance of the various buildings and properties of the County, including
1 the 149 County Bridges, with approaches; such bids to be received by the County Controller until
I

j 11:00 a.m., INT, on Monday, January 22, 1945, and opened immediately thereafter in the office
of the County Commissioners. Proposal Blanks and any additional information as to the liability
I
to be covered and the full and complete description of the property, buildings and bridges will
f
be furnished upon application at the office of the Chief Clerk. The right is reserved to reject
any or all bids, and a certified check in the amount of 100,00 must accompany each bid.
Motion carried.
Motion duly made and seconded that the County Controller be authorized to advertise

for bids for Fleet insurance in a reliable and approved stock company for public liability,
I
i property damage, fire, theft and collision coverage on truck and automobile equipment and road-
j building machinery owned and operated by Washington County; such bids to be received by the Couniy
I Controller in his office in the Court House, Washington, Pa., until 11:00 a.m., EKT, Monday:

January 22, 1945, and opened immediately thereafter in the office of the County Commissioners;
lists of present equipment and proposal blanks to be furnished upon application at the office
i
of the Chief Clerk to the County Commissioners, Court House, Washington, Pa. A certified check
i
in the amount of $100,00 must accompany each bid, and the right is reserved to reject any or
i
all bids. Motion carried.
Orders by the Court at Nos. 142, 143 and 144 November Term, 1944, Q.5., in re petitions
for new election districts in Chartiers, Cross Creek and North Bethlehem Townships, read, and
the same are hereby referred to County Board of Elections to cooperate with the Registration
I
ICommission in complying with said orders.
Motion duly made and seconded that the County Controller be authorized to remove from
his records of the assets of the County the following; county tax, at face, in the amounts, and
for the years set forth:

County Controller Harvey Stuart called into the meeting for the purpose of opening bids a per
advertisements of the County Controller for General Liability Insurance and Fleet Insurance for
public liability, property damage, fire, theft and collision coverage on truck and automobile
equipment and road building machinery owned and operated by Washington County,
In accordance with the aforementioned advertisenhents the following bids were opened
and read in the presence of the County Commissioners:
