NO. 75 Office of the County Commissioners Washington, Pao, January 26, 1945 Board of County Commissioners in regular session, those present being Mr. Cummins, Mr. Pettit, and Mr. O'Neil. Chairman Cummins presiding. Minutes Nos. 73 and 74 were read and approved. Deputy Controller Dentel called into the meeting for the purpose of awarding contract for General Liability and Fleet Insurance in accordance with advertisement of the County Controllerol Motion by Mr. Pettit, seconded by Mr, Cummins, that the bid of 17. C. Black Agency, Canonsburg, Pa., in the sum of $384.69, for General Liability Insurance, be accepted,lit being the lowest and best bid received. Motion carried, with Deputy Controller Dentel present when this action was taken and instructed to return the certified checks of the unsuccessful bidders* Motion by Mr. -Pettit, seconded by Mr. Cummins, that inasmuch as the bid of J. Stanton Funk and Eugene M. Long, in the sum of $379o92, for Fleet Insurance, does not meet the terms of the advertisement of the County Controller for bids from reliable stock companies,, the bid of W. C. Black Agency, Canonsburg, Pa., in the sum of $430,48, orally adjusted to $399,008 after deadline for opening of bids, for Fleet Insurance, be accepted, it being the lowest and best bid received* Motion carried, with Deputy Controller Dentel present when this action was taken and 4 instructed to return the certified check of the unsuccessful bidder. Deputy Controller Dentel excused from the meeting at this time. Motion duly made and seconded that the County Treasurer be authorized to abate penalty and interest on liened County taxes assessed against property described as 6 lots, Nos. 810-811-812-813-814-815, Denbo Heights, Centerville, owned by Jhooenzo Corso, concurring in action of the Borough Council and also the School District, 11otion carried. Motion duly made and seconded that an Agreement be executed between Washington County and Allegheny County Workhouse and Inebriate Asylum for the six months period beginning January 1945, and terminating six months from that date, whereby the rate of maintenance for each prisoner a� that institution is fixed at 85�, with the additional allowance of the sum of$1.50 for transportation of each discharged prisoner to the County Seat. Motion carried. Motion duly made and seconded that approval be given to the payment of the sum of $1200*00 in favor of Howard 0. Stevens, attorney for James L. Boon, John A. Boon and Nettie E. Manes, representing the award of the viewers at No. I August Term, 1932, Roads, for the damages II sustained in construction of State Aid Application No. 5404 in Peters Township, together with the i interest as agreed upon between the claimants and the Commissioners.
