O'NEIL, COMMISSIONERS MONONGAHELA PUBLISNINB CO. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that Washington County petition the Board of Finance and. Review for a, compromise of the State Taxes against the Ton Ale Coal Company and the Pittsburgh do New York Coal Company in the amounts of $500.00 and $200.00 respectively, to the end that the tracts of coal affected may be sold free and clear of'the liens, thereof. Motion carried. Minutes Nos. 75, 76 and 77 read and approved. Motion duly made and seconded that the County Treasurer be authorized to cancel the I occupation tax and abate penalty and interest on liened taxes against I. A. Polhamus, in Cecil I Township, for the years 1939-1940-1941-1942 and 194% it appearing from certified statement of John F. Wagner, Treasurer of the Cecil Township School District, and from Resolutions adopted by � the Cecil Tbwnship School District and Board of Supervisors that the said I. A. Polhamus has not been; a resident of Washington County for more than ten years, and his financial condition warrants such action. Motion carried. Motion duly made and seconded that the County Treasurer be authorised to cancel tax sales of January 23, 1940 and April 25, 1940 and march 24,1942 to Washington County of property described as Lot No. 96 in the Revised Harlan Plan in Tk1lowfield Township, assessed in the name of Hugh D. Sterm, inasmuch as this assessment was an error, said property being correctly assessed to Hugh D. Stem in the Borough of East Washington, Motion carried.
