O'NEIL., COMMISSIONERS MONO NGAH LA PUB L 9 1 Ira. 100 Office of the County Coiffai.ssioners Washington, Pa., May 25, 1945 Board of County Commissioners in regular session, those present being Mr. Cummins, Mr. Pettit and Mr. OtNeil. Idnute No. 99 read and approved. Motion duly made and seconded that John A. 71sher be appointed as Tax Collector in and for North Strabane Township, to fill the vacancy which was certified to the County Commissioners by the Board of Supervisors "inasmuch as Anthony `F. Beveo, Jr., duly elected Tax Collector, was unable to qualify", I Motion carried. Motion duly made and seconded that the status of Laura Shields, employed as "Cleaner assisting with cleaning in the morning in addition to regular work", be changed to "Cleaner in the Court House", effective May 16, 1945. Motion carried. l I Motion duly made and seconded that Emma 'Vise, employed as a Cleaner in the Court I House, be granted an indefinite leave of absence, without pay, effective May 16, 1945. Motion carried. Motion duly made and seconded that Clemie Halbert, of Washington, Pa., be employed as a a cleaner in the Court House, replacing Lottie Maurer, deceased, effective May 16, 1945.. and I - f covering the period from that date until the first nday-in January, 1946, with the proviso that she may be dismissed upon 30 days* notice. Motion carried. Motion duly made and seconded that the County Treasurer be authorized to cancel Tax Sales of Jan. 24, 1940 and April 26, 1940, of property assessed in the name of A. L. Fleming i and described as Lot 105 Colonial Heights Plan, South Strabane Township, inasmuoh as said assessment was a duplication of property owed by C. H. Spriggs, and taxes have been paid by him; said property being sold for the non-payment of 1928, 1929, 1930, 1931s 1932, 1933 and 1934 County, School and Township taxes. Motion carried. Motion duly made and seconded that the County Treasurer be authorized to abate penalty a (+ and interest on 1939, 19400 1941 and 1943 County Taxes assessed against Catherine Be Kuhran, in Fallowfield Township, on property described as "72 acres located at Van Voorhis", concurring in action of Fallowfield Township Board of Supervisors under date of April 6, 1945, and the f School District of Phllowfield Towshi under date of Aril 4 1945. !
