Minute No. 122 read and approved.
Motion duly made and seconded that the County Treasurer be authorized to cancel tax
sale of April 24, 1940, to Washington County, of property in Centerville Borough assessed to
Pred McAvoy and described as a concrete block oil station lease adj. property of Earl Phillips,
National Road. Said property was sold to the County for the non-payment of 1933 and 1954 County,
School and Borough taxes, which were liened in error inasmuch as this assessment was a duplication
of property owned by Pittsburgh Coal Company, by whom the taxes were paid.
Motion carried*
motion duly made and seconded that the County Treasurer be authorized to cancel tax
sale of April 26, 1943, to Washington County for the non-payment of 1931 and 1932 County Tax,
covering property in Peters Township assessed in the name of Stanley Momro. The 1931 County
Tax was filed in the Prothonotary's Office at No. 1680 Way Terra, 1937, ED, against Stanley
Morrow, and the 1932 County Tax was filed in the Prothonotary* s Office at No. 23'T1 August Term,
1938, Mai, against Stanley Monrow (Monroe), and, therefore, because of the key letter system.,
did not appear as liens against property of Stanley Momro and were not certified as such by the
Prothonotary. The lien of these taxes was divested by Sheriffts Sale of October 2, 1942, to
Cesare Falconi, inasmuch as a sufficient amount was realized therefrom for the payment of said
taxes.
Motion carried.
There being no further business to come before the Board at this time, the meeting
was adjourned.
