Board of County Commissioners in regular session, those present being Mr. Cummins,,
Mr. Pettit and Mr. Of Neil.
Minute No. 100 read and approved.
Motion duly made and seconded that the sure of Fifty ($50.00) Dollars be appropriated
to Hdq. Dot. 3rd Bn. 10th Info, Pennsylvania State Guard, with headquarters in the Armory,
Monongahela, Pa., to be used for purposes for which State funds are not available, an accounting
of this fund to be furnished at amy time upon request.
Motion carried. I
Motion duly made and seconded that the County Treasurer be authorized to accept at face
the 1944 County taxes assessed against property of Louis P. and 'Florence No Lehman, situate in the
Third Ward of the City of Washington, inasmuch as final disposition of the valuation of this
property prevented payment within the required time.
Motion carried.
Not-Ion duly made and seconded that Juanita Sproat, employed as a Secretary in the Tax
Assessment Department, be granted a leave of absence, without pay, effective July 9, 1945, and
continuing until July 23, 1945.

Board of County Commissioners in regular session, those present being Mr. Cummins,

The following Resolution of the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Washingtv".1
State of Pennsylvania, relative to the issue by the said County of a note for Fifty Thousand
($50,000.00) Dollars as a temporary loan, was presented, duly seconded and adopted by said Board,
to-wit:
WHERFAS, It has become necessary for said Board to borrow the sum of
Fifty Thousand ($50,000*00) Dollars for the purpose of meeting current
expenses for the year 1945, and to be payable out of taxes and other current
revenues which have been assessed and are to be levied and collected by the
County during the year 1945; now, therefore,

BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of the said County,
of Washington, that for the purpose of providing funds for the payment of
current expenses of the County, the proper officials of the said County
are hereby authorized and directed to negotiate a temporary loan on
such terms as may be agreed upon by them, payable out of taxes which are to
be levied and oolleoted during the year 1945, and so much of said taxes as
may be necessary to repay said loan, with interest, is hereby set aside
and designated for that purpose, and issue a note therefor, payable
August 6, 1945, with interest from date of said note at the rate of one (1)
per cent. per annum, free of all taxes levied by the Commonwealth of -
Pennsylvania, which said taxes the County of Washington assumes and agrees
to pay, said note to be negotiated and issued as follows
THE WASHINGTON UNION TRUST COMPANY, Washington, Pa.....$50,000.00
Motion duly made and seconded that the rate of pay for the constable on duty at the
various polling places in the County, for each Primary and each Election, shall be $7*50 in
accordance with the Act of June 3, 1937* P. L. 1333, See. 1207, as amended in 1945*
Motion carried.
There being no further business to come before the Board at this time, the meeting was
adjourned,

Motion duly made and seconded that rental for the polling placeā¢ in the Seoond, Preoinot
of New Eagle, designated as "Room in Geo. Jo Kline Prop. - Main St.", be increased to $16.00
for each Primary and each Elections
Motion carried.
Motion duly made and seconded that the polling places in the following precincts be
changed to the locations set forth and the rentals fixed at the prices noted, the former
polling places being no longer available or suitable, such action being taken by the Board
under the provisions of the Election Code of 1937 for emergency changes in polling places
within ten days of election.-
