OINEIL, COMMISSIONERS MONONOAHELA PUBLISHING CO. NO. 31 Office of the County Commissioners Washington, Pa., April 3, 1944. Joint meeting of County Commissioners and County Controller called for the purpose of opening bids in accordance with the advertisement of the County Controller for painting of the Clerk of Court's Office and adjoining Parole and Probation Office, those present being Mr. Cummins, Mr. Pettit and Mr. O'Neil, and Deputy Controller Dentel. In accordance with aforementioned advertisement, the following bid of T. J. Stevens, Claysville, Pa., being the only one received, was opened: 1 "IATe propose to paint all plastered surfaces in the Clerk of Court's Office and adjoining Parole and Probation Office with three coats of best quality paint in colors to be designated by the County Commissioners; to touch up damaged places in plaster; to high -light ornamental moulding to make a neat appearance; to touch up all damaged places in woodwork; and to give all woodwork in these rooms one coat of best quality varnish. .All work is guaranteed to be done in a workmanlike manner. My price for above work is $675.00. fCompensation insurance to be carried by the contractor." 1 Motion by Mr. Pettit, seconded by Ikir. Cummins, that the contract for above painting be awarded to T. J. Stevens at his bid of $675.00. Motion carried. Deputy Controller Dentel excused from the meeting, and business of Board of Commissioners i in regular session proceeded with. Motion duly made and seconded that the County Treasurer be authorized to cancel Treasurer's Tax Sale of April 26, 1943, of property assessed in Mt. Pleasant Township against the Barney Bobey i Estate, described as a house and lot, Primrose Road adj. Me Burney & DeBlander, and sold for the non { payment of the 1937 School Tax. This tax was a duplication of the tax paid by Camille Alexander, a i and the lien docket has been satisfied by the Tax Collector and above facts confirmed by A. L. Zeman, Solicitor for the School District. Motion carried. Motion duly made and seconded that the County Treasurer be authorized to abate penalty I and interest on 1938 County Tax against Stephanie Snee, in West Bethlehem, Township, inasmuch as this as the only tax for which property was to be sold, and financial circumstances of the owner warrant ; G abatement of penalty and interest. Motion carried. Motion duly made and seconded that the County Treasurer be authorized to abate penalty and interest, and put payments on the five year installment plan, on delinquent taxes assessed against property in the name of John T. Starr Estate in West Brownsville, concurring in the action , j of the School District, -which allows this on all taxes that are delinquent previous to 1940, and � r, j the action of the Borough, which designates the abatement on the 1932 and 1933 taxes only.
