I Joint meeting of Board of County Commissioners and County Controller called for the f purpose of opening bids in accordance with the advertisement of the County Controller for books requested by the present Judge of the Orphans* Court, those present being Commissioners Cummins, Pettit and O'Neil, and Deputy Controller Dentel. Motion by Mr. Pettit, seconded by Mr. O'Neil, that the biers be tabulated and action on awarding of contract deferred until a later date. Motion carried. I Deputy Controller Dentel excused from the meeting, and regular order of business of I Board of County Commissioners in regular session proceeded with. I Minutes Nos. 34, 35 and 36 read and approved. There being no further business to come before the Board at this time, the meeting was adjourned. Board of County Commissioners in regular session, those present being Mr. Cummins, I Mr. Pettit and Mr. O'Neil. Minute No. 37 was read and approved. Motion duly made and seconded that the Polling Place in the Second Precinct of North I Franklin Township be designated as "Room in Martin Strnisha Building, next to Company Store at Lincoln Hill;" and that the Polling Place in the First Precinct of Peters Township be designated as i = "Pleasant Valley School, about 800 feet from Donaldson Cross Roads on the McMurray Road;" the former polling places in the above mentioned districts being no longer available, and such action taken in accordance with the Election Code of 1937. Motion carried. Motion duly made and seconded that the following persons be named as Assistants to the Official Return Board to compute the votes cast at the Primary to be held April 25, 1944: Donald C. Hallam, Washington, Pa. Mary Craig, Meadowlands, Pa. Mary Melinchak, Donora, Pa. Agnes McElhaney, McDonald, Pa. Motion carried. M. C. Wilson, Canonsburg, Pa. T. E. Pattison, Washington, Pa. Earl C. Dalton, Washington, Pa. Thomas Smith, Bentleyville, Pa. Anthony L. Marino, Washington, Pa. There being no further business before the meeting, it was adjourned.
