Board of County Commissioners in regular session, those present being Mr. Cummins, Mr.
Pettit and Mr. O'Neil. j
Deputy Controller Dentel called into the meeting for the purpose of opening bids in
accordance with advertisement of the County Controller for the furnishing and printing of 12,000
or more sets (3 to a set) of Official Military Ballot Envelopes, and Instructions to Voter in
Military Service.
In accordance with said advertisement, the following bids were opened:
WILLIAM G. JOHNSTON COMPANY:
We propose to furnish Twelve Thousand Sets, or more, (three to a set), of
Official Military Ballot Envelopes, and Instructions to Voters in M litary
Service, all envelopes and instructions to voter to conform to samples
1 furnished as to size, weight, color, and no change in wording, for the +L

Additional sets, in multiples of 500, to be furnished at the unit price

Certified check in the amount of $100.00 mailed June 12th, 1944s
MONONGAHELA PUBLISHING COMPANY.
We propose to furnish V[ELVE THOUSAND SETS, or more, (three to a set), of
OFFICIAL MILITARY BALLOT ENVELOPES, and INSTRUCTIONS TO VOTER IN MILITARY
SERVICE, all envelopes and instructions to voter to conform to samples
furnished as to size, weight, color, and no change in wording, for the
price of............................................................ 210.00
Additional sets, in multiples of 500, to be furnished at the �

The above prices are f. o. b. Court House, Washington, Pa.
All deliveries to be made on or before July 14, 1944.
Motion by Tyr. Pettit, seconded by Mr. Cummins, that the contract for furnishing and
printing of Official Military Ballot Envelopes and Instructions to Voter in Military Service be

awarded to Monongahela Publishing Company upon their bid as set forth above, this being the lowest
i
and best bid received.
Motion carried, with the Deputy County Controller present when this action was taken and
authorized to return the certified check of the unsuccessful bidder.
There being no further business to come before the Board at this time, the meeting was
adjourned. j
