Board of County Commissioners in regular session, those present being Mr. Cummins, Mr. Pettit and Mr. O'Neil. Minutes Nos. 46 and 47 read and approved. Motion duly made and seconded that the following resolutions be adopted; 4 BE IT RESOLVED by the County Commissioners of Washington County, that the plans submitted by the Department of Highways for the changing of State Highway Route 62119, Bridge No. 1, $ Blaine Township, between Station qOO and 10/75, have been examined i and the County Commissioners agree that the County will not assume liability for any property damages resulting from the construction j of the highway as contemplated by these plans, or any damages arising out of any changes or alteration of drainage resulting from the construction or maintenance of the highways, or any damages resulting to any property or holdings of any Public Utility Company; or any and all damage resulting to any coal or other minerals in and underlying the property affected by this improvement. 1 - BE IT RESOLVED by the County Commissioners of Washington County, that the plans submitted by the Department of Highways for the changing of State Highway Route 62180, Section 8-1. in -Smith and Robinson Townships and the Borough of Midway, frm Station 33/58 j to Station 88/27 and from Station 552/00 to Station 428/00, have been examined and the County Commissioners agree that the County will not assume liability for any property damages resulting from the construction of the highway as contemplated by these plans, or any damages arising out of any changes or alteration of drainage resulting from the construction or maintenance of the highways, or any damages resulting to any property or holdings of any Public Utility Company; or any and all damage resulting to any coal or other minerals in and underlying the property affected by j this improvement. Motion carried. Motion duly made and seconded that approval be given to the execution of Release of Damages by Forrest Sprowls, Robert Sprawls and Romaine Logue, by F. L. Sprawls, Execut., in favor of Washington County, for the sum of One ($1.00) Dollar, dated October 23, 1943, in connection with the realignment and grading of a new channel for Rocky Run Branch of Wheeling C Creek in order to protect the,Sprowls Bridge f23, Wheeling Creek and permit the better run off of flood waters. Lotion carried. Motion duly made and seconded that approval be given to the widths, lines and location of State Highway Route 62180, in the Borough of Midway, fixed by plans presented by the State j� Highway Department, such approval being only for the prupose of fulfilling the provisions of ! See. 1 of the Act of Assembly approved June 23, A. D. 1931s P. L. 920. This,approval shall not I I be construed as an assumption by the County of liability for the property damages involved, such liability having been previously refused. Motion carried. i I Motion by Mr. Pettit, seconded by Mr. Cummins, that the County Controller be authorized to advertise for bids for the repair and restoration of 176 volumes, more or less, of old hand - sewed Record Books now on file in the office of the Recorder of Deeds in the Court House, Washington, Washington County, Pennsylvania, in accordance with specifications to be furnished by the Chief Clerk to the County Commissioners, such bids to be received by the County Controller .d `9 MINUTE BOOK BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS WASHIN13TON COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA ROSS R. A certified check in the stun of $500.00 to accompany each bid, and the right is reserved to reject any or all bids. Motion carried. Motion by Mr. Pettit, seconded by Mr. Cummins, that the resignation of R. W. Knox as a member of the Washington County Housing Authority be accepted. Motion carried. Motion by Mr. Pettit, seconded by Mr. Cummins, that James A. Lydia, of Washington, Pa., be appointed as a member of the Washington County Housing Authority, effective Tuesday, June 6, 1944, to fill the unexpired term of R. W. Knox, resigned, who was appointed on January 7, 1941, for f a term of five years. I Motion carried, with the Chief Clerk instructed to certify this action of the Board to the Federal Public Housing Authority, New York City, to the State Board of Housing, Harrisburg, Pa., and to the Washington County Housing Authority, Washington, Pa., as well as to notify Mr. Lydia, by letter, of his appointment to the said Washington County Housing Authority. Motion duly made and seconded that the sum of $1,000.00 be appropriated to w7ashington s County Council of Civilian Defense from Account No. 504, Military Contributions, for the payment of j bills for the first six months of 1944, an account of which expenditures shall be presented to the I , County Commissioners. Motion carried. Motion duly made and seconded that the County Treasurer be authorized to cancel Tax Sale on April 26, 1943, to the County, of property assessed in Amwell Township for the year 1937 in the name of W. Z. Johnson and described as "l Vacant Lot, Amity", inasmuch as this was a duplicate � assessment. Motion carried.
