Board of County Commissioners in regular session, specially called, those present
being Mr. Cumnni.ns and Mr. Pettit.
Motion duly made and seconded that the County Controller be authorized to advertise
for bids for the furnishing and delivering of approximately 26,648 board feet of Rough Sawed
White Oak Lumber for the repair and maintenance of various bridges in Washington County, in
accordance with specifications. A certified check in the amount of 100.00 is to accompany
each bid, and the right is reserved to reject any or all bids, or to make such an award as will
be to the best interest of Washington County.
Motion carried.
There being no further business to come before the Board at this time, the meeting
was adjourned.

Board of County Commissioners in regular session, those present being Mr. Cummins,
Mr. Pettit and Mr. OtNeil.
Minutes Nos, 51, 52 and 53 read and approved.
Motion duly made and seconded that in accordance with the terms of an agreement
filed at No. 197 August Term, 1944, approval be given to the payment of the sum of 400.00 in
favor of If. Lee Johnston, representing damages due him by reason of the reconstruction of the
road and bridge in North Strabane and Chartiers Townships on State Highway Route 62162.
Motion carried.

Motion duly made and seconded that an agreement be executed between Washington County �
and Comonwealth of Pennsylvania, acting through the Department of Highways, leasing to the
Commonwealth a certain portion of entire pile, Duquesne Nine, located adjacent to Legislative ` y
Route 735, at Stetson 205¢, in .Independence Township, Washington County, for the removal of
approximately 4000 cu. yds. of reddog, truck measurement, at the price of 10 cents per ton.
Motion carried.

County Controller Harvey Stuart called into the meeting for the purpose of opening bids
j for printing and delivering ballots, furnishing election supplies, and furnishing supplies and

binding books for the Tax Assessment Department, as per advertisement of the County Controller.
In accordance with the aforementioned advertisement the following bid for printing and
delivering to the Office of the County Commissioners the necessary ballots for the conduct of the

General Election to be held Tuesday, November 7, 1944, was opened and read in the presence of the
County Commissioners:

In accordance with the advertisement of the County Controller,
inviting proposals for the furnishing and delivering to the office of the
County Commissioners supplies to include tally sheets, return sheets,
envelopes, numbered lists of voters, Voterts Guides, voter's certificates
(as.per sample), etc., required for use of the election officers at the
General Election to be held November 7, 1944, having examined the attached
specifications and understanding the same, I (or We) propose to furnish
