A certified check in the stun of $500.00 to accompany each bid, and the right is reserved to reject any or all bids. Motion carried. Motion by Mr. Pettit, seconded by Mr. Cummins, that the resignation of R. W. Knox as a member of the Washington County Housing Authority be accepted. Motion carried. Motion by Mr. Pettit, seconded by Mr. Cummins, that James A. Lydia, of Washington, Pa., be appointed as a member of the Washington County Housing Authority, effective Tuesday, June 6, 1944, to fill the unexpired term of R. W. Knox, resigned, who was appointed on January 7, 1941, for f a term of five years. I Motion carried, with the Chief Clerk instructed to certify this action of the Board to the Federal Public Housing Authority, New York City, to the State Board of Housing, Harrisburg, Pa., and to the Washington County Housing Authority, Washington, Pa., as well as to notify Mr. Lydia, by letter, of his appointment to the said Washington County Housing Authority. Motion duly made and seconded that the sum of $1,000.00 be appropriated to w7ashington s County Council of Civilian Defense from Account No. 504, Military Contributions, for the payment of j bills for the first six months of 1944, an account of which expenditures shall be presented to the I , County Commissioners. Motion carried. Motion duly made and seconded that the County Treasurer be authorized to cancel Tax Sale on April 26, 1943, to the County, of property assessed in Amwell Township for the year 1937 in the name of W. Z. Johnson and described as "l Vacant Lot, Amity", inasmuch as this was a duplicate � assessment. Motion carried.
