L,btion by Mr. Cummins, seconded by fir. Pettit, that all persons employed as laborers
on the Court :douse Cleaning Force be paid at the rate of 60 cents per hour. Motion carried.
Motion by Mr. Cummins, seconded by Mr. Pettit, that payment for mileage at the present
time in connection with County business be fixed at the rate of 8 cents per mile for the actual
number of miles traveled and remain at that rate as long as present conditions exist.
I Motion carried.
There being no further business to come before the Board at this time, the meeting
was adjourned.

There being no further business in connection with fixing of salaries in the Controllers
Office, the meeting was adjourned.

The Salary Board of the County of Washington, having to do with the fixing of salaries
of employees coming under the jurisdiction of the County Commissioners, met in the Office of the

County Commissioners on Saturday, January 15, 1944, with the following members present: County
i Commissioners Cummins, Pettit and O'Neil, and County Controller Stuart.

Motion by Mr. Pettit, seconded by Mr. Cummins, that Martin Nugent, Assistant Engineer,
be paid at the rate of $150.00 per month for the period from January 3rd to January 9th,
i inclusive, 1944; and that Louis Comer, Night Building Superintendent, be paid at the rate of
$125.00 per month for the period from January 3rd to January 9th, inclusive, 1944.
Motion carried.
Motion by Mr. Pettit, seconded by Mr. Cummins, that the salaries of the persons named
below, employed by the County Commissioners in the respective capacities set forth below, be
fixed as follows for the year 1944, effective January 16, 1944, and covering the period from
that date until the first Monday in January, 1945:

The Salary Board of the County of Washington, having to do with the fixing of salaries
of employees in the District Attorney's Office, met in the Office of the County Commissioners on
Saturday, January 15, 1944, with the following members present: Commissioners Cummins, Pettit
and O'Neil; County Controller Stuart; and District Attorney George T. Cummins.

Motion by District Attorney Cummins, seconded by Mr. Pettit, that Celeste Wolfe, Secre-
tary to the District Attorney, be paid at the rate of $150.00 per month for the period from
January 3rd to January 9th, inclusive, 1945.
Motion carried.

The Salary Board of the County of Washington, having to do with the matter of fixing
the salary of the Warden at the Washington County Jail, met in the Office of the County
Commissioners on Saturday, January 15, 1944, with the following members present: County
Commissioners Cummins, Pettit and O'Neil; and County Controller Stuart.
Motion by 11r. Pettit, seconded by Mr. Stuart, that the salary of James 0. Roupe, Warden
at the Washington County Jail, be fixed at the rate of $225.00 per month for the year 1944, coverin�
the period from the first Monday in January, 1944, to the first Monday in January, 1945. j
Motion carried.
