The Salary Board of the County of Washington, having to do with .the salaries of employees
coming under its jurisdiction, met in the office of the County Commissioners on Thursday, January 10�

j1946, with the following members present; Chairman, County Commissioner Ross R. Cummins; Secretary,
County Commissioner Francis E. Pettit; Commissioner Henry J. Lostuter; and County Controller
Harvey Stuart.
Chairman Cummins presiding.
First in the order of business was the matter of fixing salaries of employees in the
1 office of the Recorder of Deeds. William D. Smith, Recorder, called into the meeting.
Motion by dr. Smith, seconded by Mr. Pettit, that the salaries of employees in said office
be set as follows for the respective positions set forth for the year 1946, covering the period
from the first Monday in January, 1946, to the first Monday in January, 1947:

Motion by Mr. Considine, seconded by Mr. Pettit, that the salary of Walter Boswell..
Deputy Register of Wills, be set at 235.00 per month for the year 1946, covering the period from
the first Monday in January, 1946, to the first Monday in January, 1947.
Motion unanimously carried.
Register of 'Dills Considine excused from the meeting.
Next in order of business was the matter of fixing the salary of the Secretary in the
Coroner's Office. Michael Sweeney, Coroner, unable to be present.
Motion by Mr. Pettit, seconded by Mr. Lowstuter,
that the salary of Mary Meiser, Secretary

be set at $150.00 per month for the year 1946, ,
covering the period from the first Monday in January

Superintendent of Schools' Office. J. L. Roberts, Superintendent of Schools, unable to be present4p
Motion by Mr. Lowstuter, seconded by Mr. Pettit, that the salary of the Secretary to
the Superintendent of Schools be set at $150.00 per month for the year 1946, covering the actual
period of time so employed.
Motion unanimously carried.
Sheriff Grant Furlong called into the meeting for the purpose of fixing the salaries
of employees in his office.

of $4.50 per day, provided that the official holding said office in
