with 7:00-20 pneumatic tires, and heavy duty rear wheels, with
11,25-24 ground grip pneumatic tires, mounted on tandem drive
axle and having a transmission brake and auxiliary wheel brake
and equipped with a "V" type heavy duty scarifier, and complete
mechanical pourer controls, a 12-foot blade and mold board. The
Auto Patrol is powered with a 44 Brake Horsepower, 4-cylinder full
Diesel engine, starting accompalished by a 2-cylinder independent

I After due consideration of the foregoing bids, motion was made by Mr. O'Neil, -seconded by
Mr. Cummins, that the Beckwith Machinery Company be awarded the contract for the Tandem Auto

Motor Patrol Grader at their net bid price of $4454.09. Lotion carried, and the County Con-
troller authorized to return the certified check of the unsuccessful bidder.
Minutes No. 22-23-24 were read and approved by the Board on this date.
There being no further business before the meeting, it was adjourned,

The Solicitor, David H. Weiner, was authorized by the Board to withdraw the appeal taken

to th® Superior Court from the order of the Commission imposing a portion of the cost of the
construction of the Scenery Hill Bridge upon the County, because of the petition now pending for
; modification of the order to relieve the County of such cost*

matter of expediency to save such injustice and inconvenience.
The Board approved the reading of Minute No. 25 in connection with the awarding of the
contract for the Tandem Auto Motor Patrol Grader.
There being no further business before the meeting, it was adjourned.

County Commissioners in regular session, those present being Messrs. Cummins and O'Neil, Mr.
Berryman being absent.
Motion duly made and seconded that the County Controller be authorised to advertise for bids
for fleet insurance for public liability, property damage, fire and theft coverage on truck and
automobile equipment owned and operated by Washington County; bids to be received by the County
Controller until Wednesday, February 15, 1940, at 11:00 A.M., and opened immediately thereafter
in the Office of the County Commissioners; a list of present equipment will be furnished upon
application at the Office of the County Road and Bridge Department. Motion carried.
There being no further business before the Board, the meeting was adjourned.

Upon motion duly made and seconded, the following Resolution was duly adppted:
V`1HEREAS, The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, by the Secretary of Highways, is about to re-
construct and improve a seo#ion thirty-three (33) feet and forty-four �44) feet in width of
State Highway Route 62026962057 and 02057, Application 5404, lying within the Townships of
Peters and Upper St. Clair, in the Counties of Washington and Allegheny, and
WHEREAS, The County of Washington desires to construct a reinforced concrete box culvert
at Station 71+45 on Route 62026, in connection with the reconstruction of said section of State
Highways, description of which is as follows:
