After due consideration, motion was duly made and seconded that the contract for the
said
insurance be awarded to MacDonald Weaver at his low bid of 422.66.
Motion carried, and

County Controller authorized to return the certified checks�of the unsuccessful bidders.
There being no further business before the joint meeting, it was adjourned.

OtNeil, Mr. Berryman being absent because of illness,
The following Resolution of the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Washington,
State of Pennsylvania, relative to the issued by the said County of a note for One Hundred Thousand
(100,000.00) Dollars as a temporary loan, was presented, duly seconded and adopted by said Board,
to -wit:

WHEREAS It has become necessary for said Board to borrow the sum of One Hundred Thousand
( 100,000.005 Dollars for the purpose of meeting current expenses for the year 1940 and to be
payable out of taxes and other current revenues which have been assessed and are to be levied and
collected by the County during the year 1940, now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED, By the Board of County Commissioners of the said Bounty of Washington, that
for the purpose of providing funds for the payment of current expenses of the County, the proper
officials of the said County are hereby authorised and directed to negotittb a temporary loan on
such terms as may be agreed upon by these, payable out of taxes which are to be levied and col-
looted during the year 1940, and so much of said taxes as may be necessary to repay said loan,
with interest, is hereby set aside and designated for that purpose, and issue a note therefor,
payable August 5, 1940, with interest from date of said note at the rate of two (2) per cent. per
annum, free of'all taxes levied by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, which said taxes the County
of Washington assumes and agrees to pay, said note to be negotiated and issued as follows;

There being no further business before the Board, the meeting was adjourned.

County Commissioners in regular session, those present being Messrs. Cummins and O•Neil, Mr,
Berryman being absent.
Motion duly made and seconded that the following Resolution be adopted:
BE IT RESOLVED, By the County Commissioners of Washington County that the plans submitted
by the Department of Highways for the changing of State'Righway'Route 62090, in North Strabane
Township, between Stations 76}OO.O0 and 88+16.81, have been examined and the County Commissioners
agree that the County will assume liability for any and all property damages resulting from the
constructing of the highway as contemplated by these plans, and also all damages arising out of
any changes or alteration of drainage resulting from the construction or maintenance of the
highway, except as to the portion within the limits of Houston Borough, in North Strabane Town-
ship, Washington County. Motion carried.
Minutes Nos. 34-35-36 were read and approved by the Board.
There being no further business before the meeting, it was adjourned.
