County Commissioners in regular session, those present being Messrs. Cummins and O'Neil, Mr.
Berryman being; absent.

Motion duly made and seconded that the County Controller be authorized to advertise for bids
i
for 95,000 Official Ballots, more or less, 25,000 Official Specimen Ballots, more or less, and
2,000 Candidates' Specimen Ballots, for use in the Primary to be held on April 23, 1940., Motion
carried,
Motion duly made and seconded that the County Controller be authorized to advertise for bids
for supplying tally sheets, return sheets, envelopes, numbered lists of voters, Voter's Guides,
etc., etc., required for use of the election officers at the Primary to be held April 23, 1940,
supplies to be packed in 188 boxes for use in Boroughs, Townships and Third Class Cities, as may
be found necessary. Motion carried.
Minute No. 44 was read and approved by the Board.
There being no further business before the meeting, it was adjourned.

County Commissioners in joint session with the County Controller for the purpose of opening
bids on automobiles for use of the District Attorney's and Sheriff's Offices, in accordance with
the advertisement of the County Controller; present for County Commissioners, Messrs, Cummins and
O'Neil; also present, County Controller, J. K. Smith.
The following; bids were opened and read in the presence of the County Commissioners:

After due consideration, motion duly made and seconded that the contract for two new 1940
Oldsmobile "70" four -door sedans for use of the Sheriff's Office be awarded to the Haslette
Motors, Canonsburg, Pa., at their bid price of 1015.70 and that the contract for two Nash
four -door black sedans for use of the District Attorneys Office be awarded to the Fulton Garage
Washington, Pa., at their bid price of 1287.00. Motion carried, and County Controller authorizA
ed to return the certified checks of the unsuccessful bidders.
There being no further business before the joint meeting, it was adjourned.
