O'NEIL, COMMISSIONERS 90. 57 Office of the County Commissioners, Washington, Pa., April 2, 1940. County Commissioners in regular session, specially called, those present being Messrs. Berry- man, Cummins and O'Neil. Motion duly made and seconded that the following resolution be adopted: RESOLVED, That in connection with the reconstruction, improvement and widening of Cherry Avenue, along the property conveyed by the County of Washington to the City of Washington, the said County of Washington pay to the said City of Washington for all curbing, driveways and side- walks required in connection with said improvement on County property, the following prices; such work to be done under the supervision of the City of Washington and to be paid for by the County of Washington upon a satisfactory completion thereof: 48X - Linear foot - Curbing 20� - Square foot - Driveways - 6" in thickness IV - Square foot - Sidewalk - 4" in thickness Motion c arried. Motion duly made and seconded that the following proposal of the Standard Construction Co., Waynesburg, Pa., for extra work in connection with the construction of the Stockdaletown Bridge, Pigeon Creek No. 2, Monongahela, Pa., be accepted and the contractor authorized to perform the extra work provided for in said proposal at the cost set forth: April 1, 1940 To The Commissioners of Washington Co., Washington, Pa. Gentlemen: We do hereby propose and agree to furnish all labor, tools and material, and complete the paving of the West approach to the Stogdaletown Bridge, work covering the following items. - Pave with brick block adjacent to the existing brick road, width 56 feet extending back approx. 16 feet to a width of 30 feet, then extend from this point to the bridge with Amiesite paving, from a width of 30 feet to width of approx. 17 feet, a distance of 40 feet and tie same into bridge floor paving. Brick Furnish complete in place 1' x 1' concrete curb for brick work, slag base filled and rolled, to be 6" after compression, a 2" sand cushion and sand filler. Amiesite Base to be same as above and to extend 1' outside the lines of asphalt paving, top or finished wearing surfiace to be 2" in thickness after compression. This work to be done under the direction of the Commissioners engineer, and according to their specifications for this type of work for the Lum Sum of Three hundred eighty-nine dollars and thirty-nine cents ($389.39). We also herewith agree to palce any extra stone slope wall or retaining wall deemed necessary by the Commissioners on the up stream side of bridge, work to be done force account as follows: Furnish all labor tools and material and complete the work as directed, and be paid for same in the following manner: s Labor cost plus 15% Unemployed tax, Compensation Insurance, Social security at the base rate to be added thereto. Motion duly made and seconded that the lot at the intersection of Routes 18 and 22, in Florence,r Hanover Township, for which an offer was originally made by James R. Coll in the amount of 400 and for which leave to sell was asked of the Court and objections made thereto in the form of a higher offer in the amount of 600 by H. T. and Glenola dams, his wife, and the higher offer having been accepted and the conveyance ordered by the Court at No. 271, February Term, 1940,rthat a proper deed conveying same be executed and delivered upon receipt of the said sum of $600,. Motion i carried. f Motion duly made and seconded that the County Controller be authorised to advertise for bids for furnishing and delivering to the Office of the County Treasurer 87,000 occupation statements, in triplicate, 50,000 real estate statements, in triplicate, 6,500 personal property statements, in triplicate, 2,000 blank statements, single copy, and 1,000 blank receipts, single copy, speoifi- cations for which may be seen at the Office of the County Treasurer; certified check in the amount of 100.00 must accompany each bid and the right is reserved to reject any or all bids. Lotion carried. The reading of Minutes No. 52-A and 53 on March 27, 1940, and the reading of Minutes No. 54 and 55 on March 30, 1940, was confirmed. i There being no further business before the Board, the meeting was adjourned. Motion duly made and seconded that the County Commissioners co-operate with the School District,, of Cecil Township in accepting liened and delinquent County tax without penalty and interest for the' year 1930 against the property assessed in the name of Louis Havel of said township.
