O'NEIL, COMMISSIONERS Motion by Mr. Cummins, seconded by dr. Berryman, that the following persons be named to the positions set forth, effective April 1, 1940, with proviso that each may be dismissed upon 30 days' notice: Marjorie W. Mawhinney - Clerk - County Commissioners' Office Bernard 2eszutek John L. Simms Steve Shook " R8gistration Office I Motion carried, with Bar. O'Neil not voting. Motion by Mr. Cummins, seconded by Mr. Berryman that the duties heretofore assigned to Robert Crawford as Veterans' Graves Registrar be withdrawn as of April 1, 1940, and that Joseph Warne be appointed to the position of Veterans' Graves Registrar, effective April 1, 1940, with proviso that he may be dismissed upon thirty days' notice. Lotion carried, with Mr. O'Neil not voting. Motion by Mr. Cummins, seconded by Mr. Berryman, that the request of Russell Adams, Engineer at the Heating Plant for the Court House and Jail, be granted for the use of the room adjacent to the boiler room, to be used as a workshop. Motion carried. There being no further business before the meeting, it was adjourned. Board of County Commissioners in regular session on Monday, April 8, 1940, at 10 A.M., members present being Messrs. Berryman, Cummins and O'Neil. The following bids were presented in connection with the painting of Grand Jury Room No. 1, connecting lavatory and tipstaves room, and the painting of plaster patches in four corridors: C. LEE MURRAY Two Coats faint $169,00 Three Coats Paint 210.00 HARRY T. MEYER Two Coats Paint $195,80 Three Coats Paint 278.15 W. U. KENNEDY Two Coats Paint 187.00 After due consideration of the foregoing bids, motion by Mr. Cummins, seconded by Mr. Berry- man, that the contract be awarded to C, Lee Murray for said painting in accordance with his bid as set forth below, in colors to carry out the color scheme in the County Commissioners' Office, using but two coats of paint, if possible, unless necessary to use three coats to give satisfso- tort' result: 42 MINUTE BOOK BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS WASHINGTON COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA JOHN D. Regarding proposed painting in Court House Room �t215, Grandjury Room #1, connecting Toilet room and Tipstaff's room: Walls and ceiling: New plaster to receive one (1) coat wall primer andcthen all walls and ceiling to be given two (2) or three(3) coats paint, depending on the colors selected. Window sills and sash to be scraped where necessary, stained and given two (2) coats varnssh. Baseboard to receive two (2) coats ground color, stained and two (2) coats varnish. Four corridors where plaster has been patched: New plaster patches to be touched up with three (3) coats paint to match as nearly as possible the old paint. I agree to furnish all necessary scaffolding and materials. I further agree to use only skilled Union mechanics, and to carry Compensation Insurance covering all my employees. Estimate for the above described work for only two (2) coats paint on Grandjury-r room i* One Hundred Sixty Mine (169.00) Dollars. If three (3) coats paint is necessary, estimate is Two Hundred Ten (J210.00) Dollars. Respectfully submitted, C. Lee Murray. Motion carried, with Mr. O'Neil not v©ting. i Motion duly made and seconded that the County Controller be authorized to advertise for the ,moaning of the M. B. Brown residence from the appropriated right of way for L. R. 62026 which r esi- idence is located at the left of Station 51+15 according to plans of the Pennsylvania Department of Highways for the construction of the said route on which the County Commissioners previously assumed ,property damage. Motion carried. Motion duly made and seconded that the Agreement be executed between Washington County and Julius Muchant, West Bethlehem Township, for the construction of a sanitary sewer line under the County road in said township for a distaneee of fifty feet, more or less, for the purpose of i ,draining sewage.
