County Commissioners in regular session, those present being; Messrs. Berryman, Cummins and
1 O'Neil.
Motion duly made, seconded and carried that the following Resolution be adopted by the Board,
to --wit:
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Virginia D. McCullough is the equitable owner of real estate in Cross Creek Township
assessed in the name of Samuel Logan McCullough which said real estate is described in Deed Book
549, page 42 in the Recorder's Office for Washington County; and
WHEREAS, the said real estate was sold by the Treasurer of Washington County in January,of
1940 (together with another small parcel of real estate) for delinquent taxes for the years 1930
and prior and was bought by the County Commissioners for the price of 305.24; and
WHEREAS, delinquent taxes, interest, penalty and costs levied for the years 1931 through
1939 on the real estate mentioned in the first paragraph hereof amount to $1195.00, of which $91.36
is for 1939; and
77HEREAS, the said Virginia D. McCullough has offered to redeem said real estate by payment
of the sum of $305,24 with legal penalty added and to pay $510.00 in compromise of the taxes for
the years 1931 through 1938 to be distributed among the several taxing bodies in proportion to
their claims, said offer being made under the provisions of Act No.35 of the session of 1938,
P.L. 90, and to pay 1939 taxes in full; and
TMEREAS, the said offer of compromise is under all the circumstances fair and just and to
the best interest of the taxing districts affected; and
WHEREAS, if the said compromise is accepted in the opinion of this Board, it will enable
the owner to keep such real'property productive.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, That the County Commissioners approve the offer to compromise
delinquent taxes made in behalf of the said Virginia D. McCullough, under and subject to the
order of the Court of Common Pleas.
That the County Treasurer be directed to accept the proportion of the said $510,00 which is
applicable to county taxes, costs, in full settlement of delinquent county taxes for the years
1931 through 1938, inclusive, and to enter satisfactions or ret6ases upon the proper records as
though said taxes had been paid in full.
There being no further business before the meeting, it was adjourned.
