COMMISSIONERS F 1 1 'IL NO, 113 Office of the County Commissioners, Washington, Pa., September 4, 1940, Board of County Commissioners in regular session, specially called, those present being Messrs, Berryman, Cummins and O'Neil. Upon motion duly made, seconded and unanimously carried, the following resolutions were adopted, to -wits BE IT RESOLVED, by the County Commissioners of Washington County, that the plans submit- ted by the Department of Highways for the changing of State highway Route 62096, in Buffalo Township, between Stations 371+ 75 and 382e50 have been examined and the County Commissioners agree that the County will assume liability for any and all property damages resulting from the construction of the highway as contemplated by these plans, and also all damages arising out of any changes or alteration of drainage resulting from the construction or maintenance of the highway, BE IT RESOLVED, by the County Commissioners of Washington County, that the plans submit - ted by the Department of Highways for the changing of State Highway Route 62122, in Hanover, Jefferson and Smith Townships, between Stations 98+50 and 110#62, have been examined and the County Commmissioners agree that the County will not assume liability for any property damages resulting from the construction of the highway as contemplated by these plans, nor any damages arising out of any changes or alteration of drainage resulting from the construction or main- tenance of the highway. BE IT RESOLVED, by the County Commissioners of Washington County, that the plans submit- ted by the Department of Highways for the changing of State Highway Route 62082, in Amwell and rris Townships, between Stations 155+36 and 159+90; 384r25 and 367+00,32; 419#13 and 431+50, have been examined and the County Commissioners agree that the County will not assume liabili- ty for any property damages resulting from the construction of the highway as contemplated by these plans, nor any damages arising out of any changes or alteration of drainage resulting from the construction or maintenance of the highway. BE IT RESOLVED, by the County Commissioners of Washington County, that the plans sub - witted by the Department of Highways for the changing of State Highway Route 62082 in Morris Township between Stations 106+19 - 111+85 and also Route 62011 in Morris Township between Stations 114+00 - 123*71.79 have been examined and the County Commissioners agree that the County will not assume liability for any property damages resulting from the construction of the highway as contemplated by these plans, nor any damages arising out of any changes or alteration of drainage resulting from the construction or maintenance of the highway, The foregoing negative actions were taken by the Board of County Commissioners because of -the fact that the 1940 land damage appropriation as set up in the County Budget has already been exceeded by previous damage assumptions, upon which several claims will yet have to be settled this year, thereby making it impossible for the Board to assume damage responsibilities at this time on the foregoing, 6 MINUTE BOOK BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS WASHINGTON COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA JOHN D. O'NEIL, COMMISSIONERS 12 39 WARD PRINTING 00 3 Recorder of Deeds, John Cooper, appeared before the Board and made recommendation that the i contract for the restoration of seventy volumes of old hand sewed record books now on file in his I office be awarded to Hultman Brothers, Grafton, Pa., at their bid of $175.00 per volume, received on August 26, 1940, in accordance with advertisement of the County Controller* i i Motion duly made, seconded and carried that the awarding of the aforementioned contract be j deferred until a further study of the bids has been made. The reading of Xixtites No. 109 and 30-S on August 93, 1940, was confirmed by the Board; Minutes No. 110 & 111 were then read and approved by the Board. County Commissioners in regular session, specially called, those present being Messrs. Berry- man, Cummins and O'Neil, In the matter of voting machines for Washington County, the following resolution was presented, duly seconded and adopted: YOMEAS, the electors of the County of Washington voted in favor of installing voting machines therein at the General Election held on November 4, 1930, and more than 103 weeks having elapsed since the time the vote was held for installing voting machines in the County of Washington and it I appearing that a legal question has arisen as to the legal effect of the vote on the question i i "Shall the Use of Voting Machines be Discontinued in the County of Washington% submitted to the electors of Washington County at the General Election held November 6, 1934, now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED, that the said question be again submitted to the electors of Washington County at the next General Election to be held on the first Tuesday after the first Monday of November, 1 There being no further business before the Board, the meeting was adjourned.
