Board of County Commissioners in regular session, each member having had personal notide of meeting, members present being Messrs. Berryman, Cummins and O'Neil, i The following Resolution of the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Washington, State of Pennsylvania, relative to the issue by the said County of a note for One Hundred Thousand (100,000.00) Dollars as a temporary loan, was presented, duly seconded and adopted,by said Board, ,, to -wit: WHEREAS, It has become necessary for said Board-ito borrow the sum of One Hundred Thousand (100,000.00) Dollars for the purpose of meeting current expenses for the year 1940 and to be payable out of taxes and other current revenues which have been assessed and levied and are to be collected by the County during the year 1940, now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED, By the Board of County Commissioners of the said County of Washington, that for the purpose of providing funds for the payment of current expenses of the County, the proper officials of the said County are hereby authorized and directed to negotiate a temporary loan on such terms as may be agreed upon by them, payable out of taxes which have been levied and are to i be collected duringthe year 1940, and so much of said taxes as may be necessary to repay said loan, with interest, are hereby set aside and designated for that purpose, and issue a note therefor, payable August 5, 1940, with interest from date of said note at the rate of two (2) per cento per annum, free of all taxes levied by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, which said taxes the County of Washington assumes and agrees to pay, said note to be negotiated and issued as followsz THE WASHINGTON 'UNION TRUST COMPANY, Washington, Pa., $1008000.00 I There being no further business before the Board, the meeting was adjourned# i i THE FOREGOING MINUTES READ AND APPROVED: January 19, 1940 ATTEST: NO. 20 Office of the County Commissioners, i Washington, Pa., January 19, 1940 E County Commissioners in regular session, those present being Messrs. Cummins and O'Neil, Mr. Berryman being absent. Minutes Nos, 16-17-18-19 of the foregoing meetingswere read and approved by the Board. A Note in the amount of $100,000.00 was executed and negotiated through the Washington Union Trust Company in accordance with a Resolution duly adopted by the Board on January 17, 1940 (Minute No. 19). 1 1 1 1 MINUTE BOOK BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS WASHINGTON COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA JOHN D. BERRYMAN, ROSS R. CUMMINS, JOHN N. O'NEIL. COMMISSIONERS G 1 1 Motion by Mr. Cummins, seconded by Mr. O'Neil, that the offer of James R. Coll, in the amount of $400.00, for the following described property owned by the County of Washington, located at the junction of Routes 18 and 22, be accepted and the Solicitor be authorized to petition the Court for approval to eke the sale and the necessary deed therefor: BEGINNING at a post, a common corner to lots now or formerly of H.M, Stephenson and Mathew Stephenson; thence *ith boundary line of lot of Mathew Stephenson South 219 17' East, a distance of 141,79 feet to point on the Northerly right of way line of public highway U.S.Route No. 22, near the junction of State Highway Route No. 18; thence with the Northerly right of way line of State Route No. 18 in a Westerly direction with the arc of a curve to the right with a radius of 179 feet, a distance of 85,18 feet to a point; thence with said right of way line with the are of a curve to the right with a radius of 2864.93 feet to a point; thence leaving said right of way line and with the line of lot of W.-M. Stephenson North 48 31' East, a distance of 98.44 feet to the beginning, containing .15 acres, more or less, being a part of the same lots conveyed to Washington County by John McCombs, dated June 1, 1932, and recorded in the Recorder's Office of Washington County, Pennsylvania, in Deed Book Vol. 587 at page 499, Motion c arried, Where being no further business before the meeting, it was adjourned. County Commissioners in regular session, those present being; Messrs. Cummins and O'Neil, Mr. Berryman being absent, Motion duly made and seconded that the County of Washington co-operate with the School District and Township Commissioners of East Bethlehem Township in accepting all lined and de- linquent county tax against the property assessed in the name of Be Frank Emery Estate in said township, on a valuation of $100*00; the County Treasurer to be advised of this action of the Board of County Commissioners, Motion carried.
