The Board approved the reading of Minute No. 25 in connection with the awarding of the contract for the Tandem Auto Motor Patrol Grader. There being no further business before the meeting, it was adjourned. THE FOREGOING MINUTES READ AND APPROVED: January 31, 194 ATTEST; Me 27 Office of the County Commissioners, Washington, Pa., January 29, 1940. County Commissioners in regular session, those present being Messrs. Cummins and O'Neil, Mr. Berryman being absent. Motion duly made and seconded that the County Controller be authorised to advertise for bids for fleet insurance for public liability, property damage, fire and theft coverage on truck and automobile equipment owned and operated by Washington County; bids to be received by the County Controller until Wednesday, February 15, 1940, at 11:00 A.M., and opened immediately thereafter in the Office of the County Commissioners; a list of present equipment will be furnished upon application at the Office of the County Road and Bridge Department. Motion carried. There being no further business before the Board, the meeting was adjourned. Upon motion duly made and seconded, the following Resolution was duly adppted: V`1HEREAS, The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, by the Secretary of Highways, is about to re- construct and improve a seo#ion thirty-three (33) feet and forty-four �44) feet in width of State Highway Route 62026962057 and 02057, Application 5404, lying within the Townships of Peters and Upper St. Clair, in the Counties of Washington and Allegheny, and WHEREAS, The County of Washington desires to construct a reinforced concrete box culvert at Station 71+45 on Route 62026, in connection with the reconstruction of said section of State Highways, description of which is as follows: 18 MINUTE BOOK BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS WASHINGTON COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA JOHN D. COMMISSIONERS f From a point 200 feet south of Donald§on's Cross Roads on Application I 5404 at Station 34-00 to a point 200 feet north of the Washington - Allegheny County line on Route 02057 at Station 2f00 N(N`1,THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, That the said County of Washington, by its duly authorized officers, is hereby authorized to enter into a contract with the successful bidder, providing for the aforesaid additional improvement, which is not covered by the improvement to be wade by the Commonwealth, at an estimated cost of one thoulshnihieight hundred ninety dollars and thirty cents ($10890.30) and that the said officers be authorized to enter into an agreement with the Secretary of Highways providing for such improvement in the manner aforesaid, and the payment thereof. Motion duly made and seconded that John Simms, extra clerk in the Office of the County Con- missioners, be assigned as clerk to assist the Board of Revision in the hearing of appeals from tax assessments for the triennial period 1940-41-42 when such service is required by the Board, ° his compensation to be fixed by the Salary Board. Motion carried. f There being no further business before the meeting, it was adjourned. Motion duly made,sedonded and carried that the Board approve the application for exemption from County tax on the property situate at 1495 Jefferson Avenue, in the City of Washington, known as the Neighborhood House, used as a Community Center, which is rightfully exempt from taxa- tion in accordance with the Acts of Assembly in such oases made and provided, such exemption to begin with the ttiennial period of 1940-41-42. 1 1 1 1 There being no further business before the meeting, it was adjourned.
