BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS WASHINGTON COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA
JOHN D. BERRYMAN, ROSS R. CUMMINS, JOHN N. O'NEIL. COMMISSIONERS
NO. 42 Office of the County Commissioners,
Washington, Pennsylvania,
March 4, 1940,
County Commissioners in regular session, those present being Commissioners Cummins and O'Neil,
+ Mr. Berryman being absent.
Motion duly made and seconded that the compensation of all election officers be fixed as
follows: I
"Mihiiaum, compensation of judges, inspectors and clerks shall be $5.00 for each primary and
election, In any election district in such counties in which more than one hundred votes are
cast at an primary or election, they shall each receive additional compensation at the rate of
one (1.00 dollar-, for each one hundred votes, or fraction thereof, cast after the first one
hundred votes, the maximum compensation in such districts, however, being ten (10.00) dollars."
"For transmitting returns of primaries and elections and the ballot box or boxes, all judges

of elections shall be entitled to receive the additional sum of two dollars and fifty cents (2.50)
and three (.03) cents per mile for mileage, as full compensation for said services."
"For transmitting the ballot box or boxes, together with the judge of election as herein pro-
vided, the minority inspector of election shall be entitled to an additional sum two dollars
of and
fifty cents ($2.50) as full compensation for said services."
Motion carried, with such action taken in a=ordance with Act No. 2181, June 15, 1939, P.L. 376,
I and to apply until further action of the Board.
The approval of the reading of Minute No. 40 on February 27, 1940, was confirmed by the Board.
There being no further business before the meeting, it was adjourned.

bids for one Good Roads Champion Snow flow as per advertisement of the County Controller; present
I for County Commissioners, Messrs. Berryman and Cummins, Mr. O'Neil being absent; also present,
County Controller Smith.

The following bids were opened and read in the presence of the County Commissionersr

After due consideration, motion by Mr. Cummins, seconded by Mr. Berryman, that the con-
tract for the snow plow be awarded to the C, K. Koontz Equipment Co,, Pittsburgh, Pa,, at their
bid price of 4455,00, less 2%, ten days, from delivery of the plow at Washington, Pa, Motion
carried and the County Controller requested to return the certified check of the unsuccessful
bidder.
There being no further business before the joint meeting, it was adjourned.

County Commissioners in regular session, those present being Messrs, Cummins and O'Neil,
Mr. Berryman being absent.
Motion duly made and seconded that the agreement between Washington County and Louis De -
Phillips, Box 223, Hickory, Pa,, be approved for the quarrying of sandstone from that certain
tract of land located one mile south of Hickory in Mt, Pleasant,Township, in the mount of
approximately 1500 tons at 20,d per "U" truck load. Motion carried.
The reading of minute No. 41 on February 27, 1940 was confirmed and Minutes Nos. 42 and
43 were read and approved by the Board.
There being no further business before the meeting, it was adjourned*
