O'NEIL, COMMISSIONERS 12 39 WARD PRINTING NO. 52-A Office of the County Commissioners, Washington, Pa., March 25, 1940. County Commissioners in conference with representatives of the Washington Aero Club relative i to the construction of a Washington County airport near Buffalo Village, Hopewell Township; present I for County Commissioners, Messrs.,Berryman, Cummins and O'Neil, with the Aero Club being represented I by William B. McBride, William E. Alley, Donald Baldwin, Jerry Cummins, Joseph Luppino and Alfred Johnson. E The Commissioners agreed that they would consider a provision for the construction of the 1 j airport in the preparation of their budget on which the 1940 tax levy will be based but, w1iile they are in favor of such a project, they will make no provision for same if it will necessitate an increase in the County tax levy. The Commissioners accepted an invitation to attend a meeting of the Aero Club iA the near future at which the airport situation will be discussed further. There being no further business before the conference, it was adjourned. Weiner, i County Solicitor, with Attorney H. D. Hamilton, Solicitor for the School District of Jefferson Township and Attorney J. Albert Reed, Solicitor for the Board of Supervisors of said township, relative to the Superior Mining Co. property, and that a request was made that the county take I steps to prevent the further mining of coal from that property, and the collection of rents, f I the County Solicitor is hereby authorized to prepare and file a bill of complaint against the Superior Mining Co. and P. J. McMahon for that purpose. Motion carried. Motion duly made and seconded that the Chairman of the Board of County Commissioners be ' authorized to execute the lease between Washington County Commissioners and A. Boyd Siegel, pro- f j viding office space in the Siegel Building, 21 East Wheeling Street, Washington, Pa., for the use of the Washington County Agricultural Conservation Association from April 1, 1940, to March , i I� 31, 1941, with proviso that said lease may be terminated by either the lessee or lessor the first day of any month by giving notice in writing thirty days prior thereto. Motion duly made and seconded that Martin Nugent be employed as 2nd Engineer at the Boiler Rooms for the Court House and Jail, to replace Wallace McFall during the period of his illness. jMotion carried. County Board of Elections in regular session, members present being Commissioners Berryman, Cummins and O'Neil; Board in session for the purpose of considering proposed changes of polling places in the following districts, due notice of such proposed changes having been given as re- i quired by the Act of Assembly: 2nd Precinct, Donegal Township, 2nd Precinct, Jefferson and the let Precinct of Amwell Township. Motion duly made and seconded that the prayer of the petitions in connection with the changes ' of the polling places in the 2nd Precinct of Donegal Township and the 2nd Precinct of Jefferson Township be granted and that the respective changes be made and the polling places designated as t follows: Donegal - 2nd Precinct: Dutch Fork School House ' Jefferson - 2nd Precinct: House No. 31, Moon Light Inn Motion carried Motion duly made and seconded that the prayer of the petition for the change of polling place in the let precinct of Amwell Township be denied inasmuch as it appears inadvisable to make any change, a petition, signed by some one hundred eighty-three electors of the precinct, opposing I d the proposed change, having been presented to the Board of Elections by a Committee composed of
