I I Joint meeting of the County Commissioners and County Controller for the purpose of opening bids in accordance with the advertisement of the County Controller for furnishing 87,000 Occupa- tion Statements, in triplicate, 50,000 Real Est#rb Statements, in triplicate, 5500 Personal Property Statements, in triplicate, 2,000 blank statements, single copy, and 1,000 blank receipts, , I ' single copy, for use of the County Treasurer for the year 1940; present for County Commissioners, Messrs. Berryman, Cummins and O'Neil; present for County Controller, Deputy -Controller G. J. Dentel. i In connection with the foregoing, the following bids were opened and read in the presence of i the County Commissioners: I Monongahela Publishing Co., Monongahela, Pa., $604,50 Ward Printing Co., Washington, Pa., 598.00 The McBee Company, Athens, Ohio., F.O.B. Athens $541,82 The Todd Sales Company, Pittsburgh, Pa. $622,63 The Egry Register Company,,Dayton, Ohio 579.18 Motion by Mr. O'Neil, seconded by Mr. Cummins, that the awarding of the contract be deferred ! until the bids have been tabluated and the County Treasurer notified that the bids are open for his inspection. Motion carried. Motion duly made and seconded that the meeting adjourn until 1 P.M. Motion carried. County Commissioners in adjourned session for the purpose of awarding the contract for the i I furnishing of the necessary tax statements for use of the County Treasurers for the year 1940, I those present being Messrs. Berryman, Cummins and O'Neil and County Treasuver.Post, After due consideration of all bids received and opened at 11 A.T., in accordance with the advertisement of the County Controller, and upon recommendation of County Treasurer Post as to the product of the McBee Company meeting specifications and requirements for his use, motion was f made by Mr. Cummins, seconded by Mr. O'Neil, that the contract for the 1940 tax statements,be awarded to the McBee Company, Athens, Ohio, at its low bid of $541.82, F.O.B. Athens, Ohio. Motion carried. I Motion duly made and seconded that the Polling Place in the 1st Precinct of the 2nd Ward of the Borough of Canonsburg be changed from the George Hoch Garage, 209 S. Jefferson Ave., to the Banquet Room of the Golden Pheasant Restaurant, 113 W. Pike Street, in accordance with the petition pre- n 1 sented to the Board of Elections praying for such a change inasmuch as the former polling place is no 1o4ger available. O'NEIL, COMMISSIONERS 1 1 u The reading of Minutes Nos. 63 and 64 on April 15, 1940, was confirmed by the Board. Motion duly made and seconded that the County Controller be authorized to return the certi- fied checks of the unsuccessful bidders on the furnishing of the 1940 tax statements for use of the County Treasurer. Motion carried. There being no further business before the Board, the meeting was s.djourned. THE FOREGOING MINUTES REAM AND APPROVED. - April 22, 1940 ATTEST: NO. 67 Office of the County Commissioners, Washington, Pa., April 22, 1940, County Commissioners in regular session, those present being Messrs. Berryman, Cummins and I O'Neil. Lotion duly made and seconded that the Polling Place in and for the 3rd Precinct of Robi.nsan j Township, Washington County, Pennsylvania, be changed from the residence of Mrs. Norma White 428 Valley Street, McDonald, Pa., to the residence of Mrs. Wk. Terrell, Valley Street, McDonald, Pa., such change to be effective for the Primary to be held April 23, 1940, and made upon motion of the Board of Elections in accordance with the Act of Assembly providing for emergency changes I which emergency was caused by a death in the family of Mrs. Norma White. Motion carried. Motion duly madeand seconded that the rolling Place in the 4th Precinct of North Strabane Township be changed from the Anthony Lugenski Garage to the Weavertown School House Recreation i Room., the Board having been advised on this date that the L gen.ski Garage will no longer be i available, such ehange being made upon motion of the Board without petition as provided by the Act of Assembly for such emergency changes, motion carried. Motion duly made and seconded that the County Commissioners approve the offer of R. W. Knox to accept the sum of 250.00 in full settlement of damages to his property in connection with the reconstruction of L. R. Route 62052, Section % in Somerset Township, and that the County Solicitor be authorized to prepare the necessary release of damages to cover a full settlement of the claim of R. W. Knox or any claim of the tenant residing on said property. Motion carried. Minutes Nos. 65-66 were read and approved by the Board.
