BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS WASHINGTON COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA

Office of the County Commissioners,
Washington, Pa., April 24, 1940,
County Commissioners in specially called session, those present being Messrs. Cummins and
O'Neil, Mr. Berryman being unable to attend because of his absence from the county,
Motion duly made, seconded and carried, that the following Resolution be adopted:
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Commissioners of Washington County that the plans submitted by
the Department of Highways for the changing of State Highway Route 62082s in Morris Township,
between Stations 88+50 and 95f50, have been examined and the County Commissioners agree that the
County will assume liability for any and all property damages resulting from the construction of
the highway as contemplated by these plans, and also all damages arising out of any changes or
alteration of drainage resulting from the construction or maintenance of the highway. Motion
carried.
There being no further business before the meeting, it was adjourned.

Cummins and O'Neil, Mr. Berryman being unable to attend.
The Chief Clerk presented the following names of persons employed in the Commissioners'
Office to act as Assistants to the County Return Board:
John Connors
Anthony Note
Eugene Stottlemyer
W. D. Brightwell
Lois\Robison
Helen Bane
Joseph Warne
Angela B. Marchione
In the absence of Mr. Berryman, Mr. O'Neil concurred in this action with Mr. Cummins as a
matter of expediency in order that the County Return Board could function in compliance with the
Act of Assembly governing such matters. Objections were filed by Mr. O'Neil in the laek of equal
party representation in the selection of such Assistants to the County Return Board.
Motion duly made and seconded that the County Treasurer be authorized to accept delinquent
County tax against the Patrick Curran property in the 1st Ward of the City of Washington and the
Cornelius Curran property in the 3rd Ward of the City of Washington without penalty and interest
for the years 1931-32-33-34. Motion carried.

Board of County Commissioners in regular session, members present being Messrs. Cummins
and O'Neil; Mr. Berryman being unable to attend:
The following Resolution of the Board of County Commissioners of the County of 'Washington,
State of Pennsylvania, relative to the issue by the said County of a note for One Mmdred
Thousand 0100,000900) Dollars as a temporary loan, was presented, duly seconded and adopted
by said Board, to -wit:
'WHEREAS It has become necessary for said Board to borrow the sum of Bne Hundred Thousand
( 100,000.005 Dollars for the purpose of meeting current expenses for the year.1940 and to be
payable out of taxes and other current revenues which have been assessed and are to be levied
and collected by the County during the year 1940, now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED, By the Board of County Commissioners of the said County of Washington, that
for the purpose of providing funds for the payment of current expenses of the County, the proper
officials of the said County are hereby authorized and directed to negotiate a temporary loan on
such terms as may be agreed upon by them, payable out of taxes which are to be levied and oolleo-
ted during the year 1940, and so much of said taxes as may be necessary to repay said loan, with
interest, is hereby set aside and designated for that purpose, and issue a note therefor, payable
August 5, 1940, with interest from date of said note at the rate of two (2) per cent, per annum,
free of all taxes levied by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, which said taxes the County of
Washington assumes and agrees to pay, said note to be negotiated and issued as follows:
