Joint meeting of the County Commissioners and County Controller for the purpose of opening
bids forthe moving of the M. B. Brown residence from its present location at the left of Statim
51415 on L. R. 62026 in accordance with the advertisement of the County CoAroller, those present
being County Commissioners Berryman, Cummins and O'Neil and County Controller Smith.
.The following bids were opened and read in the presence of the County Commissioners:
I. N. RIGGS, R. D. #5, Waynesburg, Pa. 3950900
EICHLEAY ENGINEERING CORPORATION, Pittsburgh, Pa, $4733,,00
Alternate No. 1, 1388*00
(as covered in specifications)
After consideration of the foregoing bids, motion duly made and seconded that the awarding
of the contract be deferred. Motion carried.
There being no further business before the joint meeting, it was adjourned,

County Commissioners in regular session, specially called, those present being Messrs,
Berryman, Cummins and O'Neil.
Motion duly made and seconded that the County Commissioners approve payment iah the amount
of $5600 in full settlement of the claim of M. B. Brown for all of his damages, with his agree -
went to remove his residence from its present location on the right of way at the left of
Station 51415 on L. R. 62026. Motion carried.
In view of the above settlement and no necessity existing for the removal, by tthe County,

removal of said residence, be rejected and the County Controller authorized to return the certi-
fied checks of all bidders, as per minute No. 72, of this date. Motion carried.

County Commissioners in regular session, specially called, those present being Messrs. Berry-
man, Cummins and O'Neil.
Motion by Mr. Cummins, seconded by Mr. Berryman, that the proposed budget for Washington County
General Fund for the year 1940 be made available for public inspection in the Office of the Chief
Clerk of the County Commissioners until Wednesday, May 29, 1940, at*which time the said budget
will be finally adopted and the rate of taxation fixed for the year 1940, and that the following
public notice be given in the Washington Observer:

In dompliance with the provisions of the Acts of Assembly governing such
matters, the proposed budgets for the financial affairs for Washington
j County General Fund and the Washington County Institution District for the
! fiscal year 1940 have been prepared and are available for public inspection
in the Office of the Chief Clerk of the County Commissioners, Court House,
Washington, Pa; said budgets to be finally adopted on Wednesday, May 29, 1940.
