Recorder of Deeds, John Cooper, appeared before the Board and made recommendation that the

contract for the restoration of seventy volumes of old hand sewed record books now on file in his
I
office be awarded to Hultman Brothers, Grafton, Pa., at their bid of $175.00 per volume, received
on August 26, 1940, in accordance with advertisement of the County Controller*
i
i
Motion duly made, seconded and carried that the awarding of the aforementioned contract be j
deferred until a further study of the bids has been made.
The reading of Xixtites No. 109 and 30-S on August 93, 1940, was confirmed by the Board;
Minutes No. 110 & 111 were then read and approved by the Board.
There being no further business before the Board, the meeting was adjourned.

County Commissioners in regular session, specially called, those present being Messrs. Berry-
man, Cummins and O'Neil,
In the matter of voting machines for Washington County, the following resolution was presented,
duly seconded and adopted:
YOMEAS, the electors of the County of Washington voted in favor of installing voting machines
therein at the General Election held on November 4, 1930, and more than 103 weeks having elapsed
since the time the vote was held for installing voting machines in the County of Washington and it
I appearing that a legal question has arisen as to the legal effect of the vote on the question

i "Shall the Use of Voting Machines be Discontinued in the County of Washington% submitted to the
electors of Washington County at the General Election held November 6, 1934, now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED, that the said question be again submitted to the electors of Washington County
at the next General Election to be held on the first Tuesday after the first Monday of November, 1
There being no further business before the Board, the meeting was adjourned.
