NO. 117 Office of the County Commissioners,
Washington, Pa., September 17, 1940. �
Board of County Commissioners in regular session, specially called, those present being
Messrs. Berryman, Cummins and O'Neil.
Upon motion duly made, seconded and carried, the following resolution was adoptedx
BE IT RESOLVED, By the County Commissioners of Washington County, that the plans submitted
by the Department of Highways for changing of State Highway Routes 62096 and 62183, in Blaine
Township, between Stations 216r00 to Station 224+10 and Station 224+10 to Station =7#50,04,e
respectively, have been examined and the County Commissioners agree that the County will not
assume liability for any property damages whatsoever resulting from the construction of the
highway as contemplated by these plans, nor for any damages whatsoever arising out of any changes
or alteration of drainage resulting from the construction or maintenance of the highway.
There being no further business before the Board, the meeting was adjourned.

Due to the absence of the entire Board of County Commissioners attending a conference with
the Governor in Harrisburg in connection with draft registration, it was impossible for bids to
i
be opened on Monday, Sppteember 23, 1940, in accordance with the advertisement of the County
Controller for the necessary ballots and election supplies for use at the General Election to
be held on November 5, 1940.

On Tuesday, September 24, 19400 the aforementioned bids were opened and read in the presence
of County Commissioner O'Neil and Deputy Controller Dentel, as follows:

We propose to furnish one hundred five thousand (105,000) regular Official Ballots,
twenty-five thousand (25,000) regular Official Spwoimen Ballots and also the necessary specimen
ballots for the County Chairman of each nolitioal party and political body in the oounty,for each
district, as required by Section 1008(c) of the Election Code (Act No. 320-1937) for the sum of
Three 'thousand Nine Hundred Eighty-five and No 100 Dollars 3 985.00 .
One Hundred five thousand (105,000) special Official Ballots, twenty-five thousand
(25,0000) special Specimen Ba114ts upon which to submit to the electors of Washington County the
question of the discontinuance of vatting machines in said county, the necessary ballots for a
Notion Picture Referendum in the Borough of McDonald, all for the sum of Nine Hundred Sixty-five
and Nof100 Dollars ($965.00).

188 Boxes of supplies for the General Election, with necessary computing books, names
of candidates to be printed on return papers and computing books, Voter's Guides, etc., $687,49

The bid of T. M. Bedillion, R. D. #4, Washington, Pa., in the amount of $275.00 was also)
received in connection with the delivery of the ballots, ballot boxes and election supplies noes-1
sary for the conduct of the General Election on November 5, 1940, in the various election district
of the county.
In the absence of a quorum, action in connection with the awarding of the contracts on
was deferred until a later meeting of the Board of County Commissioners.

Township, between Stations 84+50 and 108+25, have been examined and the County Commissioners
agree that the County will not assume liability for any property damages -whatsoever resulting
from the construction of the highway as contemplated by these plans, nor for any damages -whatso-
ever arising out of any changes or alteration,of drainage resulting from the construction or
maintenance of the high -ray.
There being no further business before the meeting, it was adjourned.
