I i County Commissioners in regular session, those present being Messrs. Berryman and Cummins, I Mr. O'Neil being absent. i I Motion duly made and seconded that the following Resolution be adopted: BE IT RESOLVED by the County Commissioners of Washington County that the plans submitted by the Department of Highways for the changing of State Highway Route 62111in Donegal Township, between Stations 345 and 350+55, have been examined and the County Commissioners agree that the County will assume liability for any and all property damages resulting from the construction of the highway as contemplated by these plans, and also all damages arising out of any changes or alteration of drainage resulting from the construction or maintenance of the highway. Motion carried. There being no further business before the Board, the meeting; was adjourned„' THE FOREGOING MINUTE READ AND APPROVED: October 31, 1940 ATTEST: --------------- NO, 129 Office of the County Commissioners, Washington, Pa., October 30, 1940, Board of County Commissioners in regular session, specially called, those present being Messrs. Berryman, Cummins and O'Neil. Motion duly made and seconded that payment in the amount of $295.00 be approved in favor of Georgia McClain in accordance with deed of right of way on State Highway Route 62026 in Peters Township. Motion carried. Motion`duly made and seconded that payment in the amount of $3.00 be approved in favor of I Attorneys Miller & Schmidt, representing the balance of the costs due in view at No. 2 May Term, 1940, Q.S., on the Myrtle McDonald Property, situated on Route 114, Section 3, in Donegal Township. Motion carrieds { Motion duly made and seconded that the following Deeds of Release and Quitclaim on damages to property situate in Somerset Township, caused by the reconstruction and relocation of Route i 62052, Section 2, in said township, as set forth on plan approved by the Governor on duly 8,1940: CARL R. MYERS and BESSIE L. MYERS, situate in Somerset Township from Station 173+90 to Station 187+30, right and left, a distance of 1340 feet, more or less, in consideration of the payment of $75,00, this being an additional payment for damages caused by change of location after said highway was staked by engineers, thus requiring the raising of a frame building used as a garage, CHARLES MYERS, situate in Somerset Township, from. Hunt post No. 639,\A.L., Claysville, Pa., 'gym. L. Newman, Commander $125,00 Hanson -Cole Post No. 391, A.L., Fredericktovsn, Pa. J. Grant McCarty, Commander $111,50 Notion carried. Upon petitions presented and duly approved, the following places have been designated as Polling Places, effective for the coming election, Nov. Sth, as set forth below: North :Strabane 3rd Precinct: Room in Public School, Alexander Place Canonsburg 2nd Ward 1st Pre: Slovak Hall, Iron Street, Canonsburg, Pa. Fallowfield Townshi& 4th Pros Gibson Community Hall. There being no further business before the Board, the meeting was adjourned. THE FOREGOING MINUTES READ AND APPROVED: October 31, 1940 ATTEST: NO, 130 Office of the County Commissioners, Washington, Pa., October 31, 1940, Board of County Commissioners in regular session, members present being Messrs. Berryman, Cummins and O'Neil, The following Resolution of the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Washington, State of Pennsylvania, relative to the issue_by the said County of a note for One Hundred Forty- five Thousand ($145,000.00) Dollars as a temporary loan, was presented, duly seconded and adopted by said Board, to wits HEREAS, It has become necessary for said Board to borrow the sum of One Hundred Forty-five Thousand (145,000,00) Dollars for the purpose of meeting current expenses for.the year 1940 and to be payable out of such sum or suns now due and payable to the County of Washington by the Comm wealth of Pennsylvania for Liquid Fuels Tax Refund under the Acts of Assembly applicable thereto, now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED, By the Board of County Commissioners of the said County of Washington, that for the purpose of providing funds for the payment of current expenses of the County, the proper officials of the said County are hereby authorized and directed to negotiate a temporary loan on such terms as may be agreed upon by them,, payable out of the said Liquid Fuels Tax Refund, with interest, and issue a note therefor, payable June 15, 1941, with interest from date of said note at the rate of one and one-half (11) per cent. per annum, free of all taxes levied by the Common wealth of Pennsylvania, which said taxes the County of Washington asstoes and agrees to pay, said note to be negotiated and issued as follows: THE WASHINGTON UNION TRUST COMPANY, Washington, Pa. $1450000.00 There being no further business before the Board, the meeting was adjourned.
