O'NEIL, COMMISSIONERS 05 1 1 NO. 139 Office of the County Commissioners, Washington, Pa., December 9, 1940. Board of County Commissioners in regular session, those present being Messrs. Berryman# Cummins and O'Neil. A petition sued by residents and property owners of Somerset, Forth Strabane and South Strabane Townships was presented to the Board by Mm. H. Stith, Eighty Four, Pa., objecting to the proposed relocation of L. R. 181 (Traffic Route 31) at Eighty Four, Pa. In the absence of any final plan from the Pennsylvania Department of Highways, the Board was unable to make a definite statement as to their position in the matter at this time but directed that receipt of the petition be acknowledged and the petition filed in the Washington County Road Department Office for future reference. Minutes No. 134-135-136-137-138 were read and approved by the Board. There being no further business before the Board, the meeting was adjourned. THE FOREGOING MINUTES READ AND APPROVED: ' December 30, 19409 ATTEST: ="91±26 NO. 140 Office of the County Commissioners, Washington, Pa., December 12, 1940, Board of County Commissioners in regular session, specially called, members present being Messrs. Berryman, Cummins and O'Neil. The following Resolution of the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Washington, State of Pennsylvania, relative to the issue by the said County of a note for Fifty Thousand ( 50,000.00) Dollars as a temporary loan, was presented, duly seconded and adopted by said Board, to -wit: WHEREAS, It has become necessary for said Board to borrow the sum of Fifty Thousand (450SO00.00) Dollars for the purpose of meeting current expenses for the year 1940, and to be payable out of taxes and other current revenues which have been assessed and are to be levied and collected by the County during the year 1941, now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED, By the Board of County Commissioners of the said County of Washington, that for the purpose of providing funds for the payment of current expenses of the County, the proper officials of the said County are hereby authorised and directed to negotiate a temporary loan on such terms as may be agreed upon by them, payable out of taxes which are to be levied and and collected during the year 1941, and so much of said taxes as may be necessary to repay said loan, with interest, is hereby set aside and designated for that purpose, and issue a note there- for, payable August 5, 1941, with interest from date of said note at the rate of one and one- half (lam) per cent. per annum, free of all taxes levied by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, which said taxes the County of Washington assumes and agrees to pay, said note to be negotiated and issued as follows: THE WASHINGTON UNION TRUST COMPANY, Washington, Pa., $50,000.00 There being no further business before the Board, the meeting was adjourned.
