O'NEIL. COMMISSIONERS L I 11 Is NO. 175 Office of the County Commissioners, Washington, Pa., March 3, 1941. Board of County Commissioners in regular session, those present being Messrs. Berryman, Cummins and OtNei1. Motion by Mr. Cummins, seconded by Mr. Berryman, that the resignation of Vivian H. Thompson, Matron of the Ladiest Rest Rooms in the Court House, be accepted, effective March 1, 1941. Motion carried. Motion by Mr. Cummins, seconded by Mr. Berryman, that Dora M. Hooe be appointed to fill the vacancy caused by the resignation of Vivian H. Thompson as Matron of the Ladies' Rest Rooms, with `proviso that she may be dismissed upon thirty days' notice, such appointment to become effective as of March 1, 1941• Motion carried. It appearing that the Washington County Housing Authority, created to operate within the County of Washington, having authority to transact business and exercise its powers, and that an estimate of the amount of money necessary for the administrative expenses and overhead of such Authority during the first year having been made, now, therefore, motion duly made and seconded that the County of Washington, in accordance with the authority given to it by the Act of May 26, 19372 P.L. 888, does hereby appropriate on account of such estimate, the sum of $2500*00, without interest, to the said Authority, as a loan to be paid to the said Authority by the County of Washington if and when an appropriate resolution is adopted by the Washington County Housing Authority to repay the said sum of $2500.00 out of the first monies made available to it for that purpose. Motion unanimously carried. Motion duly made and seconded that the following telegram be dispatched to Hon. J. Albert Reed, Senator form the Forty-sixth Senatorial District, in connection with proposed tax abatement legislation and assessment legislation: HON. J• ALBERT REED, HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES, HARRISBURG, PENNSYLVANIA. Burch 3, 1941 WE ARE OPP06ED TO TAX ABATELWTS AS PROVIDED IN SENATE BILL 125, WE URGE YOUR FULL SUPPORT OF SENATE BILL 945. WASHINGTON COUNTY COMMISSIONERS. Motion carried. Motion duly made and seconded that approval be given to the payment of the following damage claims as set forth below: Charles R. Kearns and Mary Be Kearns, ais wife, and D. Ray Kearns and Clara E. Kearns, his wife, in the amount of 4400oOO, in accordance with the agreement for the payment of damages in Somerset Township, Route 62052, filed at No. 2 May Term, 1941, to which no exceptions have been filed. Herman Siepman, in the amount of $1120.00, in accordance with the agreement for the payment of damages in Peters Township, Route 62026-057 filed at No. 27 May Term, 1941, to which no exceptions have been filed. Robert E. Orr, in the amount of $900.00, in accordance with the agreement for the pay- ment of damages in Peters Township, Route No. 62026, filed at No. 4 May Term, 1941, to which no exceptions have been filed. 134 MINUTE BOO= BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS WASHINGTON COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA JOHN D. BERRYMAN, ROSS R. CUMMINS, JOHN N. O'NEIL, COMMISSIONERS Carrie Brown, Matthew B. Brown and Wanda Brown Taylor, in the amount of $850000, in accordance with the agreement for the payment of damages in Peters Township, Route 62026, filed at No. 26 May Term, 1941, to which no exceptions have been filed. Motion carried. Motion duly made and seconded that the County Treasurer be authorized to void the Tax Sale for delinquent taxes for the years 1927 through 1934 involving Lot 9, Weaver Plan, in the Eighth Ward of the City of Washington, now assessed in the name of Edward Frye, and previously incorrectly assessed from 1927 through 1936 in the name of Roy Anderson, thereby creating a duplication on the assessment records; the lien dockets in both the County Treasurer's Office and the Prothonotary's I Office, as well as the assessment records in the County Commissioners' Office, to be corrected ac- cordingly for all those years in which the duplicate assessment appeared on the records, Motion carried. The Board confirmed the reading of Minute No. 171 on February 20, 1941, as well as the reading of Minutes No. 172 and 173 on February 25, 1941; minute No. 174 was also read and approved by the Board as of this date. County Controller for one 1941 Chevrolet truck for use of the Washington County Institution Districtj, one 1941 Chevrolet truck for use of the County Road and Bridge Department, and one 1941 Chevrolet Carry -All Suburban for use of the Sealer of Weights and Measures, with allowance for trade-in of one 1934 Ford Truck Chassis; present for Board of County Commissioners and Washington County Institution I Messrs. Berryman, Cummins and O'Neil, with Deputy Controller Dentel representing the County Con- troller. I In connection with the aforementioned advertisement, the following bids were opened and read in the presence of the County Commissioners: H. A.
