Board of County Comi.ssioners in regular session, -those present being Messrs. Berryman,
Cummins and O'Neil.
Notion by Mr. Cummins, seconded by Mr. O'Neil, that the budget for the General Fund of the
County of Washington for the fiscal year 1941, be finally adopted as advertised by the County
Commissioners, the said budget having been available for public inspection in the Office of the
Chief Clerk of the Commissioners from February 26, 1941 to March 17, 1941, in accordance with
the provisions of the Act of Assembly of July 18, 1935, and that the rate of taxation upon the
valuation of properties of the County of Washington, in order to raise sufficient revenues to
meet required expenditures for the fiscal year 1941, be fixed at six and one-half (6j) mills,
which will make the payment of taxes in the amount of sixty-five (66�) upon each $100 of assess-
ed valuation of real estate and occupation. Notion carried.
In accordance with resolution duly adopted by the Board under date of March 3, 1941, rela-
tive to the appropriation on account of the estimated administrative expenses and over head of
the Washington County Housing Authority during the first year of its existence, the sm of
$2500.00, without interest, approval is hereby given to the preparation of a voucher in the
amount of $2500.00 in favor of the said Washington County Housing Authority, certified copy of
the resolution of the said Authority, relative to the payment of the said amount of 2500000
by the Washington County Housing. Authority to the County of Washington out of the first monies
made available for that purpose, having been filed this day with the Chief Clerk of the County
Commissioners.
In response to a request for quotations for linoleum floor covering for the Office of the
Building, Superintendent, the following were received in this connection:
THE CALDWELL STORE INC., Washington, Pa.
3/16th inch weight Armstrong's Marbelle Linoleum for Building Superintendent's
Room for...... 127.50, using the same pattern used in the Clerk of Court's Room -
this includes cementing to the floor overArmstrong's lining felt,
SANTONI FURNITURE & SALVAGE CO., Canonsburg, Pa.
Armstrong Marbelle Linoleum 3/16" thick, patter► #09, to be cemented over felt
paper lining, sanding the floor in several places where needed, for the amount

Motion by Mr. Somiins, seconded by Mr. O'Neil, that the contract for the linoleum floor
covering for the uffioe of the Building Superintendent be awarded to the Santoni Furniture da
Salvage Co., Canonsburg, Pa., at their quotation of $127,50, to include the sanding of the
floor where necessary. Notion carried.
Notion duly made and seconded that in all cases of appeal to the Court of Common Pleas
on assessments for the triennial period, 1940-41-42, where reductions have been granted by the
said Court, the usual 5% abatement be allowed in all such cases, provided that payment of the
tax due the County of Washington be made within thirty days from the date of the Order of Court
reducing said assessments and that khereafter, the usual penalty and interest shall be charged.
Motion carried and County Treasurer be receive an excerpt of this minute.

Board of County Commissioners in regular session, specially called, those present being Messrs.
Berryman, Cummins and O'Neil.
Motion duly made and seconded that the following negative resolutions be adopted, to -vats
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Commissioners of Washington County that the plans submitted by
the Department of Highways for the changing of State Highway Route 114, Section 1-W, between Sta*
664+00 and Sta. 678e00 in Buffalo Township, and Sta. 678e00 to Sta. 723+969720 in Canton and North
Franklin Townships, have been examined and the County Commissioners agree that the County will not
assume liability for any property damages resulting from the construction of the hiy as contem-
plated by these plans, or any damages arising out of any changes or alteration of drainage resultin
from the construction or maintenance of the highway.
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Commissioners of Washington County that the plans submitted by
Department of Highways for the changing of State Highway, Route 257, Section 3-W, from Sta. 431#00
to Sta. 473+659000 in Hanover Township, have been examined and the County Commissioners agree that
the County will not assume liability for any property damages resulting from the construction of
the highway as contemplated by these plans, or any damages arising out of any changes or alteration
of drainage resulting from the construction or maintenance of the highway.
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Commissioners of Washington County that the plans submitted by
the Department of Highways for the changing of State Highway Route 736, Section R-1, from Sta•
84+39.00 to Sta* 128#45,00 in Union Township, have been examined and the County Commissioners agree
that the County will not assume liability for any property damages resulting from the construction
of the highway as contemplated by these plans, or any damages arising out of any changes or altera-
tion of drainage resulting from the construction or maintenance of the highway* Motion carried.
Notion duly made and seconded that approval be given to the payment of the following damage
claims as set forth below:
CLEMENT and VIRGINIA PIREAUX, in the amount of $1.00, in accordance with the Deed of Release
and Quitclaim relative to damages in the reconstruction of B.H.R. 62048-50 in Carroll Township
WILLIAM and VICTORIA CRATTY, in the amount of $75,00, in accordance with the Deed of Release
and Quitclaim relative to damages in the reconstruction of S.H.R. 62048-50 in Carroll Township
