O'NEIL, COMMISSIONERS 12 99 WARD PLAIN TINE CO e NO. 204 Office of the County Commissioners, Washington, Pa., May 26, 1941. I Board of County Commissioners in regular session, those present being Messrs. Berryman, Cwwdn� and O'Neil. Motion duly made and seconded that the County Controller be authorized to transfer the sum of $2500.00 from the unappropriated balance to Account No, 166, such transfer being made in order to comply with the request of the Washington County Housing Authority for an additional advancement and loan in the amount of $2500,00, without interest, in order that funds will be available to de- fray the administrative expense of the said Authority. Motion carried. It appearing that the Washington County Housing Authority, created to operate within the Coun of Washington, having the authority to transact business and exercise its powers has requested an additional advancement and loan in the amount of $2500.00, without interest, and has submitted to the Board of County Commissioners an appropriate resolution agreeing to repay the said advancement and loan out of the first monies made available to it for that purpose, motion duly made and seeonde that theCounty of Washington, in accordance with the authority given to it by the Act of May 26, 19%1 P.J,►e 888, does hereby appropriate the sum of 2500.00, without interest, to the said Authority in order that funds will be available to defray the administrative expenses of such Authority, pending receipt of funds already "ear -marked" for the use of the Washington County Housing Authority by the United States Rousing Authority. Motion carried. In accordance with the Act of Assembly of March 1% 1941, whioh provides for the establishment of a Local Council of Defense by proclamation of the governing body of each political subdivision of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, motion was duly made and seconded that the following persons named as Members of the Washington County Coftoil of Defense, such County Council to cooperate with the Local Councils of Defense in the various districts of the county and with the State Council of Defense in the civilian Defense Program of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, f J. Motion carried and each member to be notified by letter of his appointment. Deputy Controller Dental appeared before the Board to discuss the matter of the awarding of contract for additional shelving to be placed in the Law Library Motion duly made and seconded that in response to the request of the'Washington County Bar ciation for library stack work in the Law Library of the Court House to provide additional shelving space, the contract for such shelving be awarded to the Ae He Smith Company, Beaver, Pa., at their bet bid of $872.90; such contract awarded with proviso that the equipment furnished shall be the product of the Art Metal Construction Company, of Jamestown, NeY., and conform in every detail to ,, 1 I- 11 1 MINUTE o r- BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS WASHINGTON COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA JOHN D. O'NEIL, COMMISSIONERS 5 C 1 the present stack work in the Law Library which was furnished by the said Art Metal Constructio n Company whose letter of May 259 1941, is on file in the County Controller's Office, designating the A. H. Smith Company as their representative in this district for equipment and work of this type. Motion carried, with Deputy Controller Dentel present at the time of the awarding of said contract. Motion duly made and seconded that payment in the amount of $60900 be approved in favor of Joseph Plutni.ak, Sr., in accordance with Deed of Release and Quitclaim executed by the said Joseph Plutniak, Sr., relative to damages to his property in Carroll Township in the reconstruo- tion of State Highway Route 181 - R1 in said township. Motion carried. ftnute No. 203 was read and approved by the Board. There being no further business before the meeting, it was adjourned. Cummins and O'Neil, Mr. Berryman being absent from the county; Deputy Controller Dentei also present to dis- cuss the matter of the awarding of the oontraet 'for're-jaoketing and furnishing new binders to divide certain indexes in the Recorder's Office• Motion auly made and seconded -chat the contract be awarded to the Russell Index Company, Pittsburgh, Pa., at their bid of 496.00, for all necessary work and materials incidental to the restoration and replacement of index record books in the Recorder's Office as per the stipulations contained in the written contract on file in the Office of the County Controllers Motion carried, with Deputy Controller Dentel present at the time of this action of the Board of Commissioners. Motion duly made and seconded that the County Treasurer be authorised to cancel the R'reas- , urer's Tax Sale of January 22, 1940, in the name of Anna Lumi.a, of the lot Ward of the Borough of Canonsburg, such sale covering delinquent taxes against 2 lots, No. 30 and 31, First Street, In the said borough for the years 1928 and 1929, assessed in the name of the said Anna Lumia, and being in error in view of the fact that such assessment is a duplication of the assessment of Cesare Falconi for the said years. Motion carried and the County Treasurer to receive an excerpt of this minute* Minute No. 204 was read and approved by the Boards There being no further business before the meeting, it was adjourned.
