Washington, Pa., June 11, 1941.
County Commissioners in regular session, specially called, those present being Messrs. Berry-
man and Cummins, Mr. O'Neil being absent from the county,
Motion duly made and seconded that the County Controller be authorized to advertise for bids
for the furnishing and delivery of pre -mixed Bituminous Surface Course material to the Pike Rum,
Road in 'test Pike Run Township, Washington County;, the delivery and the materials to comply in
all respects with the specifications of the Pennsylvania Department of Highways for Bituminous
Surface Course designated as HE-1, and will be required in approximately the following quantities:
145 Tons of HE-1 Bottom Course Mixture
65 Tons of HE-1 Top Course Mixture
Alternate bids will be received on
Stone and Slag Aggregate
Bids on the foregoing to be received by the County Controller in his office in the Court
House, Washington, Pa., until IOsOO o'clock, E.S.T., on the morning of June 20, 1941, and opened
immediately thereafter in the Office of the County Commissioners; each bid must be accompanied by
a certified check in the amount of $100.00 and the right is reserved to reject any or all bids or
to make such an vxa.rd as shall be to the best interests of Washington County.

Board of County Commissioners in regular session, those present being Messrs. Berryman,
Cummins and O'Neil.
Upon petition duly presented to the Board, Mary Dinsmore was appointed as Assessor in West
Middletown Borough to fill the unexpired term of Minnie France who resigned as such assessor in
view of her removal from the said borough*
Motion duly made and seconded that approval be given to the application for exemption of
property from taxation in the Borough of Charleroi described on the assessment record as 8 room
frame house, garage and lots 441-443-445, situate at 232-234-236 Fallowfield Avenue, purchased
recently by Charleroi Post No. 22 of the American Legion for use as a Veterans' Club and is
exempt from taxation in accordance with the Acts of Assembly in such cases made and provided,
the property formerly owned and used by the American Legion as a Veterans' Club to be replaced
on the assessment record thereby becoming dubject to taxation. Motion carried.
