O'NEIL, COMMISSIONERS N0. 217 Office of the County Commissioners, »'ashington, Pa., July 25, 1941. Board of County Commissioners in regular session, those present being Messrs. Berryman, 4 Cummins and O'Neil, l 4! Notion duly made and seconded that the County Controller be authorised to advertise for bids 1000000 Official Ballots, more or less, 250000 Official Specimen Ballots, more or less, and (1 20,000 Candidates' Specimen Ballots, more or less, for use in the the Primary Election to be held September 9, 1941; such bids to be received by the County Controller Lentil 11 A.N., E.S.T., j Friday, August 8, 1941, and opened immediately thereafter in the Office of the County Commissioners each bid must be accompanied by a certified check in the amount of 500.00 and the right is reserve to reject any or all bids. Notion carried. Notion duly made and seconded that the County Controller be authorised to advertise for bids for supplying tally sheets, return sheets, envelopes, numbered lists of voters, Voter's Guides, etc., etc., required f'or use of election officers at the Primary Election to be held September 91, I 1941; such supplies to be packed in 188 boxes for use in boroughs, toships and third class, cities, as may be found necessary, the bids for which will be received by the County Controller 1 until 11 A.N., E.S.T., Friday, August 8, 1941, and opened immediately thereafter in the Gffice I of the County Commissioners; each bid must be accompanied by a certified check in the amount of I , $100s00 and the right is reserved to reject any or all bids. COMMISSIONERS 1 1 1 Lotion duly made and seconded that approval be given to the Agreement executed between Wash-. ington County and the Allegheny County Workhouse and Inebriate Asylum for the six months• period beginning July 1, 1941, and terminating January 1, 1942, whereby the rate of maintenance for Washington County prisoners at said institution is fixed at 83X each per day, with the addition- al sum of $1.50 allowed for transportation of each discharged prisoner to the County seat. Motion carried. Notion duly made and seconded that approval be given to the following resolutions, executed on July 16, 1941 and July 25, 1941, respectively: BE IT RESOLVED by the County Commissioners of Washington County that the plans submitted by the Department of Highways for the changing of State Highway Route 62150, from Station 80#38.50 to Station 87#25.20, in Canton Township, Washington County, have been examined and the County Commissioners agree that the County will not assume liability for =q property damages resulting from the construction of the highway as contemplated by these plans, nor any damages arising out of aW changes or alteration of drainage resulting from the construction or maintenance of the highwayi. BE IT RESOLVED by the County Commissioners of Washington County that the plans submitted by the Department of Highways for the changing of State Highway Route 113, Section II, in 'Nest Pike Run Township, Washington County, between Stations 902*20 and 1093*00, have been examined and the County Commdssioners agree that the County will not assume liability for any property damages resulting from the construction of the highway as contemplated by these plans, nor Nay damages arising out of any changes or alterations of drainage resulting from the construction or maintenance of the highway. Motion carried and the foregoing resolutions declared approved by the Board of County Com- missioners• Motion dully made and seconded that the Agreement be approved between Washington County and the Equitable Gas Company, Pittsburgh,, Pennsylvania, for the placing of a 4" gas line along the bituminous macadam road belonging to Washington County in North Strabane Township, from Canons- burg to Thomas Station, for the purpose of carrying gas along said road for a distance of 850 feet, more or less. Notion carried. The matter of accepting nomination petitions reaching the County Board of Elections after the last legal date to file such petitions for the rrimary to be held September 9, 1941, was presented. It was the oonoensus of opinion of the Board that no nomination petition be accepted for the Primary to be held on September 9, 1941, which reached this office after the regular closing hours of the office on the last legal date to file petitions as provided by the Act of Assembly, July 21, 1941 being the last legal date to file in accordance with the provisions of taid: Aot. Minutes No. 215 and 216 were read and approved by the Board, There being no further busines to come before the Board, the meeting was adjourned.
