instead of Plan No. 1 which was erroneously entered in the County Treasurer's Office, the taxes
against Lots No. 235-236 in Eldora Plan f1 having been paid by George L. 'Manner, the rightful
owner of such lots in the year 1928. }lotion carried.
Upon petition duly presented to the Board, Frank T. Oswald, Daisytown, Pa., was appointed as
Tax Collector in Wiest Pike Run Township to fill the unexpired term of Frank Iller, Sr., deceased.
There being no further business before the meeting, it was adjourned.

Board of County Colmni.ssioners in regular session, those present being Messrs. Berryman and
Cummins, Mr. O'Neil being absent from the county.
Motion duly made and seconded that the County Treasurer's Tax Sale of January 23, 1940, in the
name of "Nayer Nick & Georgetti Henry" in Independence Township, be canceled in pursuance of the
Order of Court of August 19, 19419 at No. 347, August Term 1941, and that the County Treasurer be
authorised to issue Certificate of Redemption in favor of the home Owners' Loan Corporation, now
holding title to the real estate in question, and the preparation of a voucher is hereby authorised
to cover the Prothonotary's costs in the amount of $8,00 in accordance with the said Court Order.
Motion carried,
Motion duly made and seconded that the County Controller be authorized to advertise for sealed
proposals to be received in his office in the Court House, Washington, Fa., until 11 A.M., E.8.T.,
September 5, 1941, and opened immediately thereafter in the Office of the County Commissioners, for
the furnishing and delivery of one 1940 Galion, 10 Ton, 3 Wheel, Diesel Roller, with cab and hydrau-
lic steering, and equipped with hydraulic scarifier and sprinkling attachment, for use of the County
Road and Bridge Department. Certified check in the amount of two hundred ($200.00) dollars must
aceompamy each proposal.and the right is reserved to reject MW or all bids, or to make such an
award as will be to the bests interests of Washington County* motion carried.
Motion duly made and seconded that approval be given to the Release of Damages executed the
21st day of August between Washington County and Susie Maoalak, the owner of certain real estate
situate in East Pike Run Township, along the Pike Run Road, now under reconstruction; such release
to include the payment of the sum of twenty-five dollars in favor of the said Susie Macalak as full
settlement for emy and all claims for damages arising from the said construction. Motion carried*

Motion duly wade and seconded that David B. Campbell, Solicitor for the School District
of the Borough of Canonsburg, be requested to satisfy the liens entered in the Prothonotary's
Office for the said School District for the years 1929-30-31-52-34, such liens having been
entered in error against property described as Lot 281. Second Street, McNary Plan, in the
Borough of Canonsburg, in the name of Stanley Duezik, 1st Ward, Canonsburg; such lot having
beeen assessed in error for the above named years in the name of the said Stanley Duazik inas-
much as this lot was the property of Washington County, having been acquired at Treasurers Tau
Sale the 12th day of June, 1922, and sold by the County of Washington on the 4th day of March,
1939, to Fred and Mary G. Bell, therefore, the said liens entered in the Prothonotary'$ Office
in the name of Stanley Duazik are in error since he no longer held title to the said lot.
Motion carried, and the assessment records in the Commissioners* Office to be corrected accord-
ingly.
Motion duly made and seconded that the County Controller be authorized to approve( the
following delinquent tax exonerations made by the County Commissioners in the various districts
of Washington County for the year 1940z Real Estate, 823.62; Occupations, $41,107.95; Personal
Property, 42,485.199 Motion carried.
Motion duly made and seconded that the County Controller be authorized to transfer the am
of 284#37 from unappropriated surplus to Account No. L68, to cover interest on temporary loans
as set up in the budget for the year 1941. Motion carried.
Motion duly made and seconded that the following transfers be made in the sub -divisions
of the accounts set forth belowt
