COMMI$SIONERS C 11 Motion duly made and seconded that the Vounty Controller be authorized to advertise for bids for supplying tally sheets, return sheets, envelopes, numbered lists of voters, Voter's Guides, etc., etc., required for use of the election officers at the Municipal Election to be held November 4, 1941, supplies to be packed in 188 boxes for use in boroughs, townships and third class cities, as may be found necessary; such bids to be received by the County Controller until 11 A.M., E.S.T., Monday, September 22, 1941, and opened immediately thereafter in the Office of the County Commissioners; certified check in the amount of 0100.00 must accompany each bid and the right is reserved to reject any or all bids. Motion carried* Motion duly made and seconded that Joseph Marne, Veterans' Graves Registrar in the employ of the County Commissioners, be named as one of the Assistants to the official Return Board to compute the votes cast at the Primary, September 9, 1941e to replace Angela Marchione, Clerk in the Registration Office, previously named as one of the Assistants to the Return Board, whose duties in the Registration Office are such at this time as to --require her services in that de. partment. Motion carried. There being no further business before the Board, the meeting was adjourned. County Commissioners in joint session with the County Controller for the purpose of opening bids on the following as per advertisement of the County Controllers Furnishing and delivery of one 1940 Galion, 10 Ton, 3 Wheel, Diesel Roller; 105,000 regular Official Ballots, more or less, 25,000 regular Official Specimen Ballots, more or less, the necessary ballots for a Motion Picture Referendum in the Borough of Mcllonald, and the necessary specimen ballots for the county chairman of each political party and political body in the county for each district as required by the Election Code of 1937; tally sheets, return sheets, envelopes, numbered lists of voters, Voter's Guides, etc., etc* for use of the election officers at the Municipal Election to be held November 4, 1941; and for approximately eleven thousand bard feet of treated yellow pine lumber to be used on the Catholic Church Bridge, Pigeon Creek #26 in Bentleyville Borough; present for County Commissioners, Messrs. Berryman and O'Neil, Mr. Cummins being absent from the county; present for County Controller, Deputy Controller Dental. Washington - immediate delivery. Motion duly made and seconded that the awarding of the contract for the aforementioned Diesel Roller be deferred until a later date. Moion carried. In accordance with the advertisement of the County Controller for the necessary ballots and election supplies fo'r use at the Municipal Election to be held November 4, 1941, the following I bids were presented and read in the presence of the County Commissioners: MONONGAHELA PUBLISHING COMPANY, Monongahela, Pao and WARD PRINTING COMPANY, Washington, Pennsylvania. 105,000 regular Official Ballots, Z5,000 regular Official Specimen Ballots, the necessary ballots for a Motion Picture Referendum in the Borough of McDonald, and the necessary specimen ballots for the county chairman of each political party and political body in the county for each district as re- quired by Section 1008(c) of the Election Code (Act No. 320 - 1937) for the sum of.•.......«......a....«...«..«..««..« •.«.«.«...............«......«. $4485,00 WILLIAM G« JOHNSTON COMPANY, Pittsburgh, Pas 188 boxes with the names of candidates for county and city-wide offices printed on return sheets and the necessary computing books with candidates names printed, also each box to contain a copy of the recent edition of the Voter's Guide for the sum of.«............««.......«............«.........«....«.«...«.«««««««« $775.21 Motion by Mr. O'Neil, seconded by Mr. Berryman, that the contract for the necessary ballots for use at the Municipal Election to be held November 4, 19410 be awarded jointly to the Nonon-. gahela Publishing Coo and the Ward Printing Cos, at their net bid of $4485. Motion carried, with Deputy Controller Dentel present when this action was taken« Motion by Mr. O'Neil, seconded by Mr* Berryman, that the contract for the necessary election supplies for use of the election officers at the Municipal Election be awarded to the William G. Johnston Compamy at their pet bid of $775.21. Motion carried, with Deputy Oontroller Dentel present when this action was taken. In connection with the delivery of the ballots, ballot boxes and election supplies to the various districts of Washington County for use of election officers at the Municipal Election to be held November 4, 1941, the following bid was presenteds T. Motion carried. Deputy Controller Dentel was then excused from the meeting and the Board proceded with the regular business to come before them.. Motion duly made and seconded that approval be given to the execution of the Agreement under date of September 19, 1941, between Washington County and John 0lshock, Deemston Borough, covering the laying of a 1" diameter water line for the purpose of carrying water under the Beallsville-Marianna Road for a aistance of forty feet, more or less. Motion carried. Motion duly made and seconded that approval be given to the application for exemption from taxation of property in the Borough of Roscoe by the Roscoe Volunteer Fire Department, such property being described as 'Tile Building - one story - on lot about 50' x 150' - situate on Furlong Avenue" and used for the purpose of housing fire equipment since January, 1941, therefore being exempt from taxation in acoorance with the provisions of the Acts of Assembly governing such matters. Motion carried. Minutes No. 233 and 234 were read and approved by the Board. There being no further business before the Board, the meeting was adjourned. October 15, 1941 ATTEST:
