O'NEIL, COMMISSIONERS NO. 236 Office of the County Commissioners* I Washington, Pa., September 27, 1941. j Board of County Commissioners in regular session, specially called, those present being Messrs.; i Berryman and Cummins, Mr. O'Neil being absent from the Countys i Motion by Mr. Cummins, seconded by Mr. Berryman, that the contract for the 1940 Diesel Roller 1 for use of the Road and Bridge Department, be awarded to H. W. Findley, Carnegie, Pa., in acoordane with his bid of September 22, 1941, in the amount of $992.20. Motion carried, with Deputy Con- troller Dentel present when this action was taken. Motion by Mr. Cummins, seconded by Mr. Berryman, that the contract for approximately eleven thousand board feet of treated yellow pine lumber to be used on the Catholic Church Bridge, Pigeon Creek #26, in Bentleyville Borough, be awarded to the Columbus Food Preserving Co., Columbus, Ohio, in accordance with their bid of September 22, 1941, in the amount of $803.520 Motion carried, with Deputy Controller present when this action was taken and the County Controller authorized to return the check of the unsuccessful bidder. Motion duly made and seconded that action taken by the Board under date of August 5, 1941, wherein an affirmative resolution was adopted in connection with the assumption of damages in the changing of State Highway Route 62157 in Fallowfield Township, be rescinded and the following reso- lution adopted in connection with the assumption of said damages: BE IT RESOLVED by the County Commissioners of Washington County, that the plans submitted by the Department of Highways for the changing of State Highway Route 62157, in Fiallowfield Township, between Stations 0+00 and 9*-60, have been examined and the County Commissioners agree that the will assume liability for any and all property damages resulting from the construction of the high- way as contemplated by these plans, excepting and reserving from the intent of this Resolution any property or holdings of any Public,Utility Company, and also all damages arising out of any changes or alteration of drainage resulting from the construction or maintenance of the highway, with the exception of property above mentioned. Motion carried. Motion duly made and seconded that the County Treasurer be authorized to cancel the Treasurer'# Tax Sale of 1940 in the name of Alex Simons, Independence Township, covering delii}quent taxes for t; year 1934 against property assessed and described as "68 Acres Surface, Adjoining G. Riggs & Paul Ciaffoni", such property having been erroneously assessed in the year 1934 in the name of the said Alex Simms, but being rightfully owned by the J. M. Silvers Estate, thereby making the said Treas- urer's Tax Sale void. Motion carried. Motion duly made and seconded that the following transfers be made in the various sub -di set forth as provided for in the budget for the year 1941: From Account 112-B to Account 112 B-2 $327,14 From Account 107B-2 to Account 107-Bl 109-H to 109-K 100.00 " " 116-B to a 116-H 132-A to " 132A,-1 250.00 " " 116-B to " 116-C 132-A to " 132-D 100.00 " 117-N to 117-B " 107-C to " 107-H 300.00 " 117H-1 to " 117C-2 From Account 117H-1 to Account 117-E 435.00 ]Action carried.
