O'NEIL, COMMISSIONERS After due consideration of the prices submitted on the 1941-42 winter supply of coal for use at the heating plant for the Court House and Jail, motion was duly made and seconded that the order for the necessary coal be placed with the Pittsburgh Coal Company, Pittsburgh, Pa., in accordance with the following quotation submitted under date of October 17, 1941: PITTSBURGH COAL COMPANY, Pittsburgh, Pa. Nut - (2"xl") coal - W3.65 per net ton of 2,000#, delivered into bin TES: Cash on the 15th of each month for all coal delivered during the preceeding calendar month. The above coal will be delivered to the Court House Building from our Lindley Mine, located at Houston, Pa. The Coal we offer to furnish is a deep mine, hard structure, low in ash with an exceedingly high fusing point. Motion carried. Motion duly made and seconded that the County of Washington cooperate with the Borough of j Marianna in accordance with their request of October 6, 1941, for the furnishing of the following road materials to be used on the County Road adjoining the borough lines 100 feet - Drain Pipe 2 Grates - 24 x 30 (Sturdy Materials due to Main Street traffic)the said Borough of Marianna to grade and surface the said road with black -top upon the furnishing of the aforene tioned materials by the County of Washington. Motion carried. Minute No. 237 was read and approved by the Board. There being no further business before the Board, the meeting was adjourned. Board of County Commissioners in regular session, those present being Messrs. Berryman, Cummins and O'Neil. Motion duly made and seconded that approval be given to the acceptance of an increase in the monthly service charge of the Otis Elevator Company, stipulated in the existing contract with Washington County, such increase in monthly rate to be from ;e5.25 to 7.50 per month, effective November 1, 19410 with all other provisions of the said contract remaining the same, ineccordanee with letter of acceptance executed by this Board under date of October 22, 1941, and forwarded to the said company as per request. COMMISSIONERS d 1 L Motion duly made and seconded that approval be given to the Deed of Release and Quitclaim., executed by Mary Sankovich, 245 Hamilton Avenue, Patterson, N. J., owner of property affected by the improvement of a section of road in Peters Township, Washington County, Pennsylvania, designated on the records of the Department of Highways as Route No. 62026, for and in consider- ation of the sum of 295#00, such Deed of Release and Quitclaim to relieve the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and/or the County of Washington from all suits, damages, claims and demands whatso- ever in connection with the construction of said road or the subsequent maintenance thereof according to the standards of the Department of Highways. Motion carried* Motion duly made and seconded that the County Treasurer be authorized to accept from the West Penn Power Company upon the property of the Provost Heirs in Nottingham Township, 5/16 of the delinquent taxes for the years 1931-32 and 5/13 of the delinquent taxes for the years 1933 to 1941, inclusive, and satisfy or release the liens entered for such taxes for the portion of the property so paid. Motion carried, with such action being taken in cooperation with the Township Supervisors and School District of Nottingham Township. Motion carried. Motion duly made and seconded that approval be given to the adoptloh of the following Resolu- tion under date of October 31, 1941: BE IT RESOLVED that we, the undersigned County Commissioners of Washington County, Pennsyl- vania, hereby indicate our approval of the widths, grades, the lines and location fixed by the plans presented by the Pennsylvania Department of Highways in connection with the reconstruction of Route 113, in Centerville Borough, such approval being given only for the purpose of fulfilling the provisions of Section 1 of the Act of Assembly approved June 23, A.D., 1931, P.L. 920, and shall not be construed as an assumption by the County of liability for the property damages in- volved, such liability being hereby refused by the County Commissioners for Washington County. Motion carried* Motion duly made and seconded that approval be given to the Right of Way .Agreement executed ID on November 1, 1941, between Washington County and the West Penn Power Company in connection with the construction of its general electric transmission system over and upon land situate in Smith Township, Washington County, Pennsylvania, adjoining property of Gabriel Litwin, Public Alley, 40' street and 30' street, known as Lot 753, Plan of Lots laid out for Welch Heirs, Plan Book #4, Page 96, being lot sold at sale #444, Treasurer's Sale, June 12, 1928, to Washington County., such grant covering the right of way for overhang only. Motion carried* Motion, duly made and seconded that approval be given to the payment of the sum of $100#00 in favor.of the Ernest Phillips Post No. 485, of the Amtrican Legion, McDonald, Pa., to assist in defraying the expenses incurred by the said American-_Logion Post for Memorial Day Celebration, May 30, 1941. Motion carried. Motion by Mr. Cummins, seconded by Mr. O'Neil, that a regard of 1000.00 be offered by the County for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for the dynamiting or bombing of the home of William B. Baker in South Strabane Township, Washing• ton County, on November 2, 1941, and that this offer of reward be advertised immediately. O'NEIL, COMMISSIONERS I2 99 WARD Upon petition presented to the Board, the Polling Place in the Borough of Allenport was changed from the Jr. 0*U.A.M. Hall to a room in the Borough Building, such new location being more suitable, for the holding of elections as set forth in the petition. Minute No. 238 was read and approved by the Board.
