O'NEIL. COMMISSIONERS WRD NO. 169 Office of the County Commissioners, Washington, Pa., February 13, 1941. Board of County Commissioners in joint session with the County Controller for the purpose of awarding contract for the Controller's Annual Report for the year 1940 in accordance with request for proposals on same; present for County Commissioners, Messrs. Berryman, Cummins and O'Neil; present for County Controller, G. J. Dentel, Deputy Controller. The following bids were opened and read in the presence of the County Commissioners: THE NOTES PUBLISHING CO., Canonsburg, Pa. 2500 copies of Controller's Annual Report $262.50 WARD PRINTING CO., Washington, Pa. 2500 copies of Controller's Annual Report Page size 6 x 9 - inside stock - to be machine 4 finish book - cover of imitation leather, color to be selected - 32 pages andower - includes new cover out $258.45 4 Pages additional or less @ 34.00 Delivery when needed i LIBERTY PRINTING COMPANY, Canonsburg, Pa. 2500 copies with same stock and size as sample, and containing two more printed pages for $254oOO Motion by Mr. Cummins, seconded by Mr. O'Neil, that the contract for the Controller's Annual Report for the year 1940 be awarded to the Liberty Printing Company, Canonsburg, Pa., at their 1 bid price of $254.00. ]Motion carried. i There being no further business before the joint meeting, it was adjourned. Board of County Commissioners in regular session, those present being Messrs. Berryman, Cummins and O'Neil. The Secretary presented a letter to the Board advising that the certificate reciting the adoption of resolution declaring the need for a housing authority to function within the county of Washington, has been officially filed with the Secretary of Commonwealth, same having been certified to the Department of State by the Chief Clerk of the County Commissioners in accordance with the provisions of the Housing Authorities Law, Act of Assembly approved May 28, 193% P. COMMISSIONERS 2 1 Motion by Mr. O'Neil, seconded by Mr. Cummins, that the rwquest of the American Cal sualty Company, Reading, Pa., and their Agent, George H. Hott, Charleroi, Pa., be granted by permitting the withdrawal of their bid for public liability and property damage coverage on automobile and truck equipment and road building machinery owned and operated by WashiugtouCounty, and that the bid of the Hill Agency, Inc., Washington, Pa., be rejected because of their failure to comply with bidding requirements in the amount of the certified check accompanying each bid and that the County Controller be authorized to return the certified check and the money order of The Hill Agency, Inc. and George H. Hott, respectively. Motion carried. Motion by Mr. Cummins, seconded by Mr. Berryman, that the contract for Fleet Insurance for public liability, property damage, fire and theft coverage on truck and automobile equipment and road building machinery owned and operated by Washington County, be awarded to J. R. Culley, Agent, Burgettstoun, Pa., at his low bid of $445.01, such contract for insurance to cover the period February 18, 1941 to February 18, 1942, and the County Controller authorized to return the checks of all unsuccessful bidders. Motion carried. Motion duly made and seconded that because of an error in assessment, the County Treasurer be authorized to void the Tax Sale for delinquent taxes for the years 1929 through 1934, involv- ing Lot 272 and the western half of lot 271, in the Fairgrounds Land Company Plan, Canton Township, now assessed in the name of Stephen B. Meeks, 272 Oakland Avenue, Washington, Pa; the lien dockets in both the County Treasurer's Office and the Prothonotary's Office, as well as the assessment records in the Commissioners' Office, to be corrected accordingly and also for the years 1937 and 1938; like action to be taken by the Solicitors for the Road and 'School Districts; the County Treasurer to receive an excerpt of this minute. Motion carried. Minutes No. 167-168-169 were read and approved by the Board* There being no further business before the Board, the meeting was adjourned.
