Washington, Pa., May 2, 1941.
Board of County Commissioners in regular session, those present being Messrs. Berryman,
Cummins and O'Neil.
Motion duly made and seconded that approval be given to the application for exemption from
taxation of property in Centerville Borough, now assessed in the name of Rev. John Mo Rostas, but
being the property of the St. Agnes Roman Catholic Church, and used for religious services and
is therefore exempt from taxation in accordance with the Acts of Assembly in such oases made and
provided, such exemption to apply for the year 1940, as well as subsequent years in which such
property is used for religious services; the County Treasurer to receive an exceppt of this
minute in order that delinquent taxes against the said property for the year 1940 may be exoner-
ated on the tax lien docket for that year. Motion carried.

Motion duly made and seconded that the County Treasurer be authorized to cancel the sale
against the assessment in the name of George Decko, Fallowfield Township, such assessment being
carried in dhplleatiot th;that hf',Peter Feesen for the years 1927-1928 on Lots 5-6-7 Dawson
Plan in said Township, the tax on said lots for the years 1927-1928 having been paid by Peter
Fecsen, the rightful owner. Motion carried and the County Treasurer to receive an excerpt of
this minute.
Motion by Mr. Cumins, seconded by Mr. Berryman, that James J. Cleland be appointed to fill
the existing facancy on the Washington County Housing Authority caused by the resignation of Lee
M. Crowthers, such appointment to cover the unexpired term of Mr. Crowthers which was made
January 7, 1941, effective for a three year period. Notion carried, with Mr. O'Neil not voting.
Minutes Number 195-196 were read and approved by the Board.
There being no further business before the meeting, it was adjourned.

Messrs. Berryman, Cummins and O'Neil.
Notion duly made and seconded that the sum of $1000 be transferred from the unappropriated
cash balance to Account No. 123, to provide for the purchase of additional equipment in the Law
Library, Motion carried.

District Attorney Cummins appeared before the Board and was advised that the equipment account
as set up for his office in the budget for the current year, has been exhausted, therefore, motion
was duly made and seconded that the sum of $126.10 be transferred from Account No. 122-B to Account '
No. 122-J. Notion carried.
In accordance with the request contained in the letter of Roxane L. Yarzolf, Chief Probation
Officer of the Juvenile Court, dated April 15, 1941, motion was duly made and seconded that the
sum of $500#00 be transferred from Account No. 132-A Juvenile to Account No. 132 A-1 Juvenile
inasmuch as the sum set up for extra help in the budget for the current year has been exhausted*
Notion carried.
There being no further business before the Board, the meeting was adjourned.

Board of County Commissioners in regular session, those present being Messrs. Berryman,
Cummins and O'Neil.
Notion duly made and seconded that payment in the amount of $3400, with interest from January
150 1941, to May 10, 1941, be approved in favor of J. R. Irwin Knox, attorney for Luola Je Whites
Executrix of the Estate of Na.rguuiretta C. Little, the total amount of such payment to be 3506.54
which said payment represents the verdict recovered against the County at No. 109 February Term,
1939, A.D., in connection with damages incidental to the reconstruction of Route 113 - 9B in
Amwell Township• Notion carried*
Notion duly made and seconded that payment in the total amount of V101.90 be approved in favor
of Harry F. Moore, Attorney for MaJecus MoKahan, representing the verdict in the amount of $100.00
recovered against the County at No. 109 February Term, 19390 A.D., with interest to date of payment,
May 10, 1941, such payment to cover damages incidental to the reconstruction of Route 113 - 9 B is
Amwell Township. Notion carried.
Notion duly made and seconded that the County Treasurer be authorised to remove from the 194u
Treasurer's Tax Sale$, the property of the Finlander Boarding House, in West Pike Run Township,
which was sold for the 1932 county tax, such property having been previously sold at Sheriff's Sale
No. 113 August Term 1932, and the said 1932 county tax not having been included in the certification
of delinquent taxes by the County Treasurer to the Sheriff, and it further appearing that an amount
sufficient to pay the said 1932 county tax was bid at the time of said sale and would have been ooi-
lected had the same been properly certified* Notion carried.
