BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS WASHINGTON COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA

Porter Bridge - Ten Mile Creek #6,, in Deemston Borough; to be a single beam span, stone and
concrete masonry, timber deck, having 14 foot clear roadway and clear span of 32.5 Peet.
Porter Bridge - Ten Mile Creek #?t in Deemston Borough; to be single beam span, placed on
present abutments, with additional concrete masonry, timber deck and railing, having 14 foot
clear roadway and clear span of 44 feet.
The above bridges to be bid as one project, and any award will be made on that basis.
Van Voorhis Bridge - Pigeon Creek #3, in Monongahela City and Carroll Townships; to be a

two span beam bridge, placed on present abutments, with additional stone and concrete masonry,
timber deck, having 16 feet clear roadway and total length of 104 feet.
Fox Bodge - Pigeon Creek 1+13# 'Fallowf'ield Township; to be a two span beam bridge, placed
on present abutments, with additional stone and concrete masonry, timber deck, having clear
roadway of 14 feet, and a total length of 83 feet.
the plain structural steel for all the above bridges will be furnished by Washington
i County; plans, specifications and proposal blanks for all the foregoing work may be obtained
at the Office of the County Engineering Department; a deposit of $5.00 will be required for the
plans and specifications and upon their return, this deposit will be refunded to all who bid;

separate bids will be received for the foregoing projects and a certified check in the amount
i
of 400,00 must accompany each bid, the right being reserved to reject any or all bids, or to
i make such an award as will be to the best interests of Washington County. Motion carried*

Board of County Commissioners in regular session, specially called, those present being
Messrs. Berryman and Cummins, Mr. OvNeil being absent from the county.
Motion duly made and ,seconded that approval be given to the adoption of the following
Resolution executed by the Board under date of February 11, 1942:
BE IT RESOLFED, by the County Commissioners of Washington County, that the plans submitted
by the Department of Highways for the changing of State Highway Route 62009, in Robinson Township,
between Stations 0+11 and 14#00 have been examined and the County Commissioners agree that the
county will assume liability for any and all property damages resulting from the construction of
the highway as contemplated by these plans, and also all damages arising out of any changes or
alteration of drainage resulting from the construction or maintenance of the highway. IT IS
UNDERSTOOD that any change in plans as submitted February 11, 1942, will void this Resolution.
Motion carried.
Motion duly made and seconded that approval be given to the agreement executed between

Washington County and the Equitable Gas Company, Pittsburgh, Pa., for the laying of a 1-5/4 inch
diameter gas line for the purpose of carrying gas across and under the road in forth Strabane
Township from Canonsburg to Thomas Station for a distance of 40 feet, more or less. Motion carried.'
Motion duly made and seconded that approval be given to the payment of the sum of 5889.61 in
favor of J• Taylor Cheeseman in accordance with the agreement for payment of damages on Route No.
62026 in Peters Township, filed and advertised at No. 296 February Term, 1942, to which no exoeptionlil
have been filed. Motion carried. j
Motion duly made and seconded that the County Treasurer be authorised and directed to exonerate
i
the delinquent county tax for the year 1934 on the assessment of Harry Marshall in the Borough of
Centerville, covering property described on the assessment records of 'Whe:County of Washington as
"46 acres - House end Stable, valued at 1100", for the reason that same was inadvertently omitted
from the Treasurer's Tax Return Docket when other properties owned by the said Harry Marshall were
entered on the said docket for the year 1934, the said 46 acres, house and stable having since
passed into the hands of an innocent purchaser. Motion carried.

Motion by Mr. Cummins, seconded by Xr. O'Neil, that the proposed budget for Washington County �
General Fund for the year 1942 be made available for public inspection in the Office of the Chief
Clerk of the County Commissioners until Friday, Larch 13, 1942, on which date the said budget will

+ be finally adopted and the rate of taxation fixed for the year 1942, and that the following public

notice be given in the Washington Observers
NOTICE
i In compliance with the provisions of the Acts of Assembly governing such matters,
the proposed budgets for the financial affairs for the Washington County General
Fund and the Washington County Institution District for the fiscal year 1942 have
been prepared and are available for public inspection in the Office of the Chief
Clerk of the County Commissioners, Court House, Washington, Pa., said budgets to
be finally adopted on Friday, March 13, 1942.
