BE IT RESOLVED, By the Board of County Commissioners of the said County of Washington, that
for the purpose of providing funds for the payment of current expenses of the county, the proper
officials of the said county are hereby authorized and directed to negotiate a temporary loan on
such tetras as may be agreed upon by them, payable out of taxes which are to be levied and collected
duri.n; the year 1942, and so much of said taxes as xW be necessary to repay said loan, with inter-
est*, is hereby set aside and designated for that purpose, and issue a note therefor, payable August
5, 1942, with interest from date of said note at the rate of one and one-half {1 ) per cent. per
annum, free of all taxes levied by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, which said taxes the County of
Washington assumes and agrees to pay, said note to be negotiated and issued as followsc

i Board of County Commissioners in regular session, those present being Messrs. Berryman, Cummins

and O'Neil.
i Motion duly made and seconded that the County Treasurer be authorized to accept liened and der,
linquent county tax for the year 1930 against the property of W, P. Landman in the Borough of
Centerville without penalty and interests such action being taken in cooperation with the Borough
Council and School District of Centerville Borough. Motion carried.

Motion duly made and seconded that the County Treasurer be authorized to accept liened and
delinquent county tax for the year 1933 against the property of Hudson Guthrie in Bentleyville Borouga
without penalty and interest, such action being taken in cooperation with the Borough Council and
School District of Bentleyville B6rough. Motion carried.
' Motion duly made and seconded that the County Treasurer be authorized to accept the final
payment on liened and delinquent county taxes for the years 1931.32-33 against property assessed
j in the name of Walter Mitchell Estate in the Borough of Bentleyville, without penalty and interest,
i
inasmuch as the said delinquent taxes were being paid under the provisions of Act No. 83 and the
I
j final payment on the county taxes was inadvertently omitted when complete settlement of other de-
linquent taxes was made. Motion carried.
Motion duly made and seconded that the County Treasurer be authorized to accept the balance
i
due on liened and delinquent county taxes for the year 1933 in the name of Bessie Dias, in the
Borough of California, without penalty and interest, inasmuch as the said delinquent tax was being
paid under the provisions of an abatement act and the balance due was inadvertently omitted when
complete settlement of other delinquent taxes was made. Motion carried.
Motion duly.made and seconded that the County Treasurer be authorized to aooept the balance
due on liened and delinquent county taxes for the years 1927 to 1933 inclusive in the name of the
Hugh Thompson Estate in Jefferson Township, without penalty and interest, inasmuch as the balance
due was inadvertently omitted when payment was made of other delinquent taxes under the provisions

Motion duly made and seconded that the County Treasurer be authorized to accept liened and
delinquent county taxes without penalty and interest for the year 1936, on Lot 55% situate at
307 Oakland Avenue, Charleroi Borough, which was erroneously assessed to Catherine Gilmore for
the year 1936, whereas, said lot should have been assessed to Alfred Guthrie, who held title
to said lot, but because of the erroneous assessment for the year 1936, received no tax state-
ment. Motion carried.
Motion duly made and seconded that the resignation of James J. Cleland, Member of the
Washington County Housing Authority, be accepted and that G. J. Henna, R. D. #1, Washi4ton,
Pa., be appointed to fill the vacancy on the said Housing Authority caused by the resignation
of Mr. Cleland , such appointment to be for the unexpired portion of the term which originally
covered the period -from January 7, 1941 to January 7, 1944. Motion carried.
Minutes No. 273 and 274 were read and approved by the Board.
There being no further business before the Board, the meeting was adjourned.

Board of County Commissioners in joint session with the County Controller for the purpose of
opening bids in accordance with the advertisement of the County Controller for tax statements
for the year 1942 for the use of the County Treasurer; present for County Commissioners, Messrs.
Berryman, Cummins and O'Neil; County Controller Stuart present.
In accordance with the aforementioned advertisement, the following bid, being the only bid
received, was opened and read in the presence of the County Commissioners:
THE GENERAL MANIFOLD and PRINTING COMPANY, Franklin, Pa.
Occupation Statements - 90,000 sets at UJS per 1,000 sets or $256,50
Real Estate Statements- 47,000 sets at $3.20 per 1,000 sets or 150.40
Personal Property Statements - 6,000 sets at $8.20 per 1,000 sets or 49.20
Blank Statements and Receipts- 1,500 White Sheets 6 4.00 per 1,000 or 6.00
1,500 Pink Sheets * $4,00 per 1,000 or 6.00
Total $468.10
Motion by Mr. OtNeil, seconded by Mr. Cummins, that the contract be awarded to The General
Manifold and Printing Company, Franklin, Pa., for the necessary statements for used the County
Treasurer for the year 1942 in accordance with the foregoing bid in the total amount of $468.10.
Motion carried.
There being no further business before the meeting, it was adjourned,
